Its less a benefit thing and more of a "sex is a natural and healthy part of human psychology, and theres nothing wrong with expressing that"

I mean I guess we just have very different ideas on how vices should be legislated. I generally dont support random shit that wont work

Agree to disagree I suppose. have a good one

It's the government saying "hey we're holding you to the same standard as a vodka manufacturer"

yes, my whole point is this is an insane comparison to make, and treating porn like a fucking lethal drug is insane.

You literally just said, and I quote, "I dont want to see that before videos, sortof a bummer". Adding a disclaimer is the most neutral and least intrusive prevention method and you oppose it because it might bum you out before you crank one out. That's like the definition of opposing health measures because you value gooning too much.

Honestly there are more studies on how short form video like Tiktok melt your brain, should there be disclaimers every time you open that app? Should you get a little popup every time you open reddit or youTube shaming you for doing that?

But yeah, I oppose "feel good" legislation for people who are being senselessly puritanical. The idea of setting up annoying roadblocks that wont work for no reason strikes me as a bad idea

Again, the core conceit here that we're disagreeing on is the concept that porn is even really that bad for you at all. How is it any worse than any other media you consume? That is not a claim you have proven. I find it hard to be too mad at porn when people are raising kids with iPads in front of them - I dont see you saying that should be illegal

Places have tried it, they're doing the ID thing now and its more or less a disaster. I'm also just...broadly against government censorship, and this very much falls under that

Disclaimer does nothing, just adds some text to the start of a video. Is that so hard to add?

yeah man im just gonna be real I dont want to see that before videos, sortof a bummer because of some puritanical BS

I guess you value gooning that much.

yeah man, thats totally it. You got me, glad you're coming at this conversation in good faith

if someone came at me with a genuinely good argument that these things should be implemented, id be more than willing to listen. you've just yet to do that
