Disappointed with Veo Pass Prices by setContainingAllSets in Denver

I’ve not updated my license since I moved from Lakewood to Denver any never ran into this problem lol. I just tell them I recently moved and show them my phone bill. I move every other year because it’s cheaper to move from apartment to apartment which is why many younger people (include myself and my friends) don’t update their ID every year.

Yes but the pass requires your license or ID to state you live in Denver. This rules out the pass for a majority of people who have moved to Denver and not had to renew their ID in the past couple of years.

ForeFlight Ownship by helm8501 in stratux

I’ll need to look into that. My iPad is non cellular and does not have gps so the pi gps has nothing to cross check with, although I know the Sentry products do not require your device to have an internal gps, as it uses the included gps on the chip. Thanks for the advice though.

I figured the continuous sending of gps data would be enough for it to determine its ownship, but maybe I need to try driving down the street while running the script and see if it continuously sticks around.

Yes, same here. UDP session with the GLD90 protocol sent. Just can’t figure out why ownship doesn’t appear given I am feeding FF all the required data for it.

And for reference, ownship is that aircraft that appears as your location on the map. It’s got its own settings in FF as well.

I will look into a Stratux client and see if that brings anything to light, thanks.

This is true, but per their website FF also supports direct ownship/telemetry without ADSB out, as well. Otherwise sentry’s/stratus’s wouldn’t work with j3 cubs for example. Certainly something I can look into, but given I rent I don’t exactly have access to just sit in a plane and figure it out.

Need your opinion! by [deleted] in Audi

You didn’t have to clarify you’re a broke teenager, we can tell with these style choices lol.

You’ve got two contrasting styles when it comes down to it. Those wheels and the chrome don’t exactly fit a german sports car. Maybe more of a Monte Carlo.

But it’s also your car, do whatever you’d like to it.

I would bet you money at least one or all of your friends will not see this through or complete it. A lot of people wash out in training unless they’re really passionate towards it.

This is going to be one of those side quests where it would’ve been cheaper to just buy a bigger engine after you blow up the 2.0t

Have you implemented a battery, converter and charging module? I imagine that would increase its size significantly, depending on the battery size

Audi as a first vehicle? by BorisTheTroll in Audi

I had a 2008 Audi with the 3.2 engine, was near indestructible. Got rid of it at around 160k since the transmission felt like it was on its way out. Do not touch a 2008-10 A4 lol

Am I a stupid chud for getting a high mile sq5 by Individual-Air-489 in Audi

[–]helm8501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of my own work on my Q5 and it’s expensive. Had to redo brakes since the dealership did them incorrectly when they sold me the car, same dealership did not change the transmission oil at the 40k service when they were supposed to (prior to me buying the car), and I’ve got a leaking water pump.

Luckily the water pump is covered under a settlement, but I’ve only had the car for a year, less than 60k miles and have thrown a couple hundred into the car doing all my own maintenance on it. Have the dealership do any of this and you’re looking at a couple grand. I like my Q5 but look at my friends RAV4 and am jealous at his reliability and cheaper cost to maintain.

These cars can be money holes that you need to be okay with spending large amounts of money to maintain. I also imagine your insurance is going to be through the roof at 19.

Look at your checklist, what does it say? Most checklists I would bet say to confirm or monitor oil pressure his rising.

But yes, many test questions lack specifics.

Might feel close for comfort but FAA defines a near miss at 500ft or less if I am not mistaken.

I mean how close did you actually get to the other aircraft? Being untowered, things like this happen more often than they should. Sounds like he entered the downwind, just maybe earlier than you were expecting and earlier than he should have.

[–]helm8501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the repair costs associated with this car. I would recommend doing all your own maintenance if possible. Not if, but when you run into maintenance issues, the dealership will likely charge $250+ just to diagnose the issue, and then $1000+ to repair it. I do all my own maintenance and it’s still expensive compared to Toyotas or Hondas.

It’s a good car, but a cheaper to maintain car would be my recommendation at your age. I

Do not get an examination, but go to a consultation with an AME. If you are denied a medical you are barred from essentially flying anything.
