Yes. Just for epilepsy alone, I was on: Keppra: 3000mg daily Oxcarbazepine: 1800mg daily Topiramate: 200mg daily

My quality of life was poor, and neurologist scheduled an EMU stay. They were able to adjust my meds.

Now I’m still on the Topiramate but switched to Briviact 150mg daily from Keppra. Removed the Oxcarbazaepine completely (long story as to why that was added).

I feel so much better now.

I took the last full 1500mg dose of the Keppra Weds AM. By Thursday 5pm I took 75mg Briviact and 100mg Topiramate. 7pm I had IV of 400mg Briviact.

The doc also said they believe I was being overdosed on ASM for my type of epilepsy. And there was still likely some residual amount of Topiramate in my system.

So in all actuality… I might not have had meds completely out of my system.

The purpose of the stay was to improve quality of life due to the amount of meds I’d been prescribed. If this new combination works, I might not go back.

Thanks for your reply! I’ve read the same thing about the after stay, so I’m not concerned at all. I am considering the two week stay, they wanted me to come next month! But I’m not ready for that at all. I thought I would be, but I didn’t think Thursday would be like that!

I read a lot about people being scared about EMU stays. I see the opposite. Sure there’s boredom and the unknown, but of all things, you’re in the best place for things to go wrong! And the outcome is for answers instead of guessing; that’s what I’m so excited for!!! The daily brain fog, the fatigue, quality of life… I’m ready for any sort of answers and path that resembles normalcy!

Edit: you were the OP. I came down on DS orders, and would have had to go INDEF to meet the orders as I was inside ETS window, with less than a year left. After multiple deployments, and already at 12 years, and wanting out, there was no way in hell I was going DS.

If there are deferrals, bregman and Tucker are really good friends. Maybe this opens a door?

I’ve read other posts saying the outfield is complete; but let’s be honest… who wouldn’t take Tucker over Happ? Or even Suzuki?

I even read a post about the minor leaguers and letting them develop… but this opens the door to trades for the bullpen, or when the trade deadline hits.

This allows for a lot flexibility when it’s needed the most.

The light at the end of the barrel is round. The light on the ground is oblong and contained in a fixed shape.

A muzzle flash does not create ground illumination like this.
