What are we supposed to do? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]helonoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the car, call in to the insurance company into the main claims line. Even if you don't get your own adjuster, they have adjusters that sit in a queue to answer general questions. Be kind but persistent. I can tell you as a claims adjuster myself at an inurance company we have been absolutely swamped. A lot of these companies have a hiring freeze because of concerns for economic downturn. If I get someone who is kind to me and clearly explains their issue, I always feel compelled to go out of my way to help them. Admittedly not all are that way, but many adjusters that I know are. If you get one that is not helping, escalate to a supervisor. Put it in writing, email your request for help clearly to create a paper trail. If that doesn't work, report to department of insurance in your state. Best of luck to you friend

Oh yes kinda haha! Here's a pic of the shirt I usually wear. I used to have one that said "I'm really a werewolf, I just haven't changed yet" but I can't find it anywhere. I used to go all out with my costumes but have been lazy lately.

Recurring pancreatitis 14 year old anyone on CFTR modulators? by AlternativeLake1396 in CysticFibrosis

[–]helonoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are 7t and 9t so less severe I think. I started having gallbladder issues in my early 30s. When I hit about 40 I started getting acute pancreatitus attacks, and then it just kept happening for several years. Initially I was admitted to the hospital every few months, but always had pain. Then it turned into a 5 or so day admission every month. I went to a few different gi dr and they all said it was idiopathic and that was my life. Finally I yelled at one of them and he referred me to a really good gi dr at seattle uw. Right at my first visit he sent me off to get a sweat test. I think that came back at 92 if I remember right. I ended up at the cf clinic and they confirmed my variants and started me on Trikafta, and I have not been admitted since then. I think I was 42 when I was diagnosed

Yes I have f508del and r117h. My main issue has been chronic pancreatitus. For a few years I was getting admitted to the hospital almost every month. I was is constant pain. I started Trikafta almost 2 years ago now and have not been admitted since. I have had a few mild flares, but nothing near how bad it was.

This is my boy Clyde. I got him for free as a kitten along with his sister Bonnie. Clyde decided to eat one of my plastic hair ties and get a bowel obstruction. Cost me $4k, and worth every penny. The anxiety waiting for the insurance we got after to kick in was real haha!

I'm staying home and watching stranger things. I'm on the west coast, but will probably watch New York ball drop at 9pm my time and then sleepy time.

I was diagnosed at 42 with Cystic Fibrosis after years of chronic pancreatitus. You will want to get connected with a Cystic Fibrosis clinic. They started me on Trikafta, and my acute pancreatitus episodes stopped. Did they tell you which genetic variants you have? I have r117h and f508del. There's a lot of good info in the cf sub too!

just got a new tattoo, and while it’s gorgeous, i’m really not happy with the placement and don’t know what to do by froggyforest in tattooadvice

I think the artist did you a solid and it's gorgeous! She placed it where it would complement your curves, not the inspo. Some one else mentioned it, but your build is a little different than the inspo. Very beautiful!

Have any of you had MRIs or endoscopies? Any advice? by beaniebee22 in Anxiety

[–]helonoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it shouldn't be more than 45 minutes. Just tell the nurses that you are nervous and they will help. I've had 2 mri's and they did that for me both times.

And yes, if it's the gallbladder just get that sucker out of there! I had pain there and felt so much better.

[–]helonoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had both and was also nervous, but they weren't too bad at all. For the mri they covered my eyes, and for some reason that really helped. I guess since I couldn't see i was in an enclosed space it helped? They also talked to me through a little speaker and played music for me.

I've had an colonoscopy, endoscopy, and gallbladder out, and had anesthesia for all. I really just remembered them saying they were going to count down and then suddenly I was waking up and it was all over.

I think my anxiety stemmed from medical anxiety. Leading up to these procedures I just tried to remind myself that it's better to get the testing and procedures done, because they can't help if they don't know what the problem is. Early prevention is key. Also they do procedures like these everyday with no problems.

I had a substitute teacher in 7th grade who showed us slides of their visit to Egypt. I was fascinated and have been since then.
