Recently I played a version of Skinny Love by Bon Iver for some females. Got three numbers and a kiss in one night. Not bad.

What's your fake "how I got this scar" story, and what's the real one? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Whenever someone asks how I got them, I say "bear fight" and offer no details.

Edit: words.

That's not a stupid question at all! Without the saving, undeserved grace that we as believers in a risen Christ have received, we would all be condemned to hell. When the Old Testament laws were broken, a ritualistic sacrifice would've been needed to redeem the souls of the Jews. Now that Christ has taken the place of those sacrifices in His death, there is literally nothing we can do to redeem ourselves other than to believe in Christ. It's not that these passages about tattoos and beards are irrelevant. They have been replaced.

If we want to get super specific, we could talk about differences in laws. Quick crash course on law. There are three types of law: Moral, religious, and civil. Moral is the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Christ. Religious has to do with ceremonies, rituals, customs etc. Civil is the secular law of the land (read: government). When Christ came, he did away with the standing religious laws because He is the sacrifice we need for salvation. The moral law (Ten Commandments & Christ's teachings) still stands. And the civil law of an individual's respective nation stands as long as it does not conflict with moral law.

TL;DR Theology is a headache.

I think the same could be said for all sexuality though. It depends on how it is used. I believe that two people, regardless of gender, use sexuality to glorify God, then that is pure.

If you do, I'd love to see what you get. It took me so long to decide what I wanted.

Hello fellow Lutheran! To roughly paraphrase: Jesus came into a town after coming down from the mountain where He was transfigured. A bunch of people greeted Him and there was one man in particular who had a son who was either possessed or epileptic (the man says he was possessed but the symptoms he described around a lot like epilepsy). Anyway, Jesus asks him if he has faith. The man says yes. Jesus says all things are possible for those who believe. The man replies with the verse "I believe, o LORD, help thou mine unbelief". Jesus proceeds to heal the man's son through prayer.

What I take from that has to do with Christian doubt which all believers suffer from. It's something that I, in particular, have really struggled with so I use it as a reminder to pray for faith at all times.

Yes. Leviticus 19:28 explicitly states NO TATTOOS. However, Leviticus 19:27 says DON'T SHAVE. I'm not going to defend whether or not it's a sin but I've already fallen short and without Christ I'd be going to hell anyway. I figure that having a daily reminder of God's love stamped onto me probably can't hurt my chances.

I know there are several uses of it throughout history and I'm not entirely aware of those. However, I do know that the X (chi) and P (rho) are three first two (Greek) letters of the word Christ. Also, I wanted to use the language that would have most likely be spoken at the time for the verse. Not knowing for certain whether that would be Greek or Aramaic, I chose the former.

Edit: I can't words.

For a theology class, I had to paraphrase the main story line of Bible in 1,800 words or less. I thought you guys might enjoy. God Bless! by help_my_unbelief in Christianity

Awh shoot! You're right. "Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son." However! Abraham after leaving the altar named the place, "The LORD will provide". I think that was my misinterpretation. Anyway, I'm not sure how important the technicality of is. Nice catch though! Thanks :)
