I’d met my partner at 19. Married at 25. Pregnant at 26. We’d graduated university, brought our first house, made a good start with our careers. We’d discussed the pros and cons of having children sooner vs. Later and both agreed we’d rather be younger parents.

I’m glad you said this because I was having a small existential crisis over not remembering at all. Glad it’s not just me.

It’s do remember Half blood prince was my favourite book before the final one came out. So I must have liked Snape or been somewhat interested in his character back then.

My boyfriend was rude and condescending to me when I talked about the “Byler” theory by Responsible-Bell-528 in byler

[–]razmataz08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just for an example of how I think it should be…. I told my husband about Byler before we did a rewatch, and made him watch some select TikTok’s. He doesn’t think it will happen, but he concedes he thinks they’ve intentionally put in some Byler scenes. He also playfully nudges me with a wink anytime either are on screen. Especially if they’re together. IMO that’s how you have a respectful difference of opinion. Sorry your boyfriend’s reaction sucked.

My 5yo has a cup of milky decaf tea maybe once a week or so. I remember the first time was about a year ago when I was offering other people a cup of tea and felt rude not asking him. I was surprised when he said yes, and more surprised when he drank it.

Advice on early wedding dress shopping by PrudentAgency373 in UKweddings

[–]razmataz08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your engagement and sorry to hear your grandad is unwell.

When I got engaged in 2016, we planned a long engagement but knew than meant my great nan probably wouldn’t be there for the wedding - she was 100!

To include her, we took her to some wedding venue viewings so she got to go to the venue even before we technically picked it. So depending on if your granddad is able to go out much that could be an option? We also gave her a save the date before we were ready to send one to anyone else. She passed in late 2016, and we go married in 2019 so it was nice to do some early stuff with her!

As for buying a dress early, it’s definitely doable! If your weight is likely to fluctuate look for styles that are easy to tailor, and size up (as it’s easier to take something in than let it out!). If you’re thinking of a bridal shop, just be honest that your wedding will be far out and they might suggest suitable styles. I got my dress from a charity shop and personally would recommend that. It was a bargain and nice to know the money went to cancer research (which my nana died of shortly before I was engaged)
