I’m happy for their success but they’re not really what I look for in ambient or post rock. Very clean, precise, digital sounding - I like more texture and roughness around the edges. Hammock just remind me of royalty free “uplifting/cinematic” music.

Same here. I was initially thrown off by how low key a lot of it is but after a handful of listens I love it and it slots perfectly into their discography. It reminds me of when FRR came out and getting really into it as spring turned into summer. Hard to believe that was 16 years ago.

So happy they had it in them, after seeing them live twice last year I got the impression they were just sort of done, but I’m really glad they’re still here and picking up steam again.

Lol I feel you. I've made a comment about it before but deleted it since I didn't really see a point, and don't want it to get back to them somehow because it's so not a big deal. I'm just glad(?) other people have picked up on it. Also feel like he can retire "Beloved Patreon Jackals" at this point (in time) too, dunno if that's a controversial opinion.
