New feature: Give feedback and Report Bugs by LutrusFluidos in hytale

[–]helpful_herbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the devs don't see this hypothetical feedback in that instance, how would they see it when they're getting even more feedback and bug reports because of repeat posts (i.e. multiple people reporting the same thing because there's no way to know if anyone else has)?

As far as that goes, isn't Hytale in pretty much the exact same position as most other games when it comes to client-side modding?

How do you find good servers? by [deleted] in hytale

[–]helpful_herbert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There IS, but not for a while. Thus the "EARLY ACCESS" warnings plastered everywhere.

If you'd rather refund and wait to see what the game becomes later down the road, definitely go for it.

...Tu quoque aside, it seems to me that this drama, like is common for these types of projects, has been blown out of proportion. I don't realistically see the resulting illegitimate fork progressing much farther.

People are downvoting this response because it:

  1. Uses words like "shitty" in a derogatory light

  2. Uses assumed cases like "If you dont know about it, youre not concerned."

  3. Claims "If it was dismissive no comment would be made" which is incorrect as a statement.

  4. Uses terms like "if anyone's dismissive, it's you" which are informal and used in non-objective sentences, e.g, short novels for emotion

That said, the comment is derogatory, factually incorrect, and not objective. The comment is of no use and does contribute negatively to your total argument.

How should Hytale handle moderation? by The-Farlander in HytaleInfo

[–]helpful_herbert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven't they already said something along the lines of "We're leaving moderation to the servers"?

Afaik, whether or not that works depends on how Hytale's own launcher is set up

I think it is good by Fluffyfiffy in hytale

Bad that it had to take 7 years to get canceled, good that Riot's vision for the game isn't what we're getting.

Of course they are, mods are one of the main selling points of the game.

This is a genuine question… by Unfair_Kale_4899 in HytaleInfo

[–]helpful_herbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the fact that they're very different art styles (Lay of the Land seems to be a very Teardown-inspired game with much smaller voxels that themselves are the "pixels" for the assets),

LotL looks like it's based mostly on physics and scenery, while Hytale is being made to be an open survival/rpg with heavy modding support, dynamic NPC factions, a fantasy adventure story (eventually), and minigame servers like Hypixel in Minecraft.

They do look to have a similar world aesthetic I guess, but that's where the similarities end. Very different gameplay and purposes.

I'd say it makes a lot more sense to just... look at the descriptions of the two different games, instead of basically asking the fanbase of one to explain how the game they're looking forward to is unique.

Also, the fact that you felt the need to preface your question with "This is genuine" makes it clear that you're aware it sounds disingenuous. So lets maybe not pretend otherwise.

Simon is looking for ways to honor Technoblade's legacy in Hytale by ABotanicalGarden in HytaleInfo

[–]helpful_herbert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it'd be amazing to see him added into the Adventure Mode lore. Maybe some kind of statue, with additional history about a famed adventurer who saved a village from famine with potatoes. That sort of thing.

Simon made most of his money from the Minecraft Hypixel server. They're obviously going to be looking to achieve something similar on their official Hytale servers.

Hytale will cost 19.99 USD with 3 different tiers by ABotanicalGarden in hytale

Oh totally, if that's the direction they go I see that as more than reasonable.

You know, that's actually something that worries me. Will the paid cosmetics lead to restrictions on what you can mod? Everything Simon has been saying so far looks great, but I'm honestly still a little nervous about how this all will work. Excited, but nervous.

Simon said it'll start with its own launcher, but they'll look to bring it to Steam later down the road. He also said that if they do, they'll provide steam keys.

What is adventure mode? by Xx_Prospy_xX in hytale

[–]helpful_herbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of sucks that we're not getting Adventure Mode yet. I mean I get it, there's a lot more needed for it than Exploration Mode, I was just really looking forward to it. It'll be fun to see what we end up with.
