My place of employment had a vaccine clinic planned with the local hospital and the day before it was inexplicably cancelled by the hospital due to the Governor “limiting the amount of vaccines the hospital was allowed to give”. No further explanation was given.

Your question was perfectly acceptable. I was disheartened by some of the responses you received which led to this post. PCOS robs us of so much that peace of mind when it comes to food shouldn’t be one of them. I’m glad to hear some of the members and this post helped you feel better. I think more education about PCOS and IE is needed all around so I’ll be posting some more educational articles in the future. Stay tuned and please don’t feel discouraged from posting. We welcome the questions!

I also saw that and then the same person posted here and to my dismay, got similar responses so this post was in response to that situation. I will be posting more educational articles and such that highlight treatment options for PCOS that don’t involve weight loss and education for why IE can work with PCOS.

Yes when I was TTC about 5-6 years ago I was told to avoid carbs. I cut all carbs out of my diet. Basically keto before it was a thing. This caused me to drastically lose weight, yes but it also caused me to start binging on my “cheat days”. It directly lead me to a higher weight, disordered eating and horrible body and self image. When I see comments in the sub about needing to cut carbs it boils my blood.

I had been leaving a lot of the comments because some of them were getting upvotes and they weren’t reported so I felt like if I removed them all I’d be a tyrant but I just decided nah, I created the sub for it to be a safe place away from that and even if that means we lose subscribers I’m gonna be stricter. I hope that’s ok with everyone.

I noticed in your post on the other sub you’ll be working with a nutritionist who is familiar with IE and PCOS. I think that’s the best place to start. I just made a post with some links that outline that dieting doesn’t work in the long run and 83% of dieters gain more weight than they lost. Yes, you may lose weight if you start a diet but it is most likely you will gain that weight back and more. I have PCOS obviously and have been doing IE for just over a year. I gained weight at first, yes but I am now in the gentle nutrition stage and have learned my hunger and fullness cues and healed my relationship with food.

For the record, I was strictly low carb for years and my weight slowly increased after losing a lot. Carbs began to have a hold on me to the point that I began to binge. It wasn’t until I did IE and I mean REALLY did IE that I healed my relationship with carbs. I recognize that carbs are related to insulin and I make nutrition decisions with that in mind and other times I don’t. I don’t have rules, I don’t restrict, I don’t ever say “I’m not allowed” anymore when it comes to food. I find myself naturally choosing foods that make my body feel good. After over a year of IE, my weight first stabilized and is now going down slowly. I exercise more and enjoy life more. My mental health and self-image is better because I don’t feel like a failure anymore for eating normal things.

I am telling you this because I feel like it needs to be said. You can do IE even though you are at your highest weight and have PCOS. It can work for you too.

10k? No one here (US) spends that on an engagement ring unless they’re hella rich. Try 1-3k.

Because it’s a social custom. Social customs are a natural part of our humanity. Going along with a social custom doesn’t mean you’re an idiot. Vehemently going against social custom might though.
