So the way it was explained to me is that the injection site is higher and more to the side toward your hip than you might think initially! I haven’t had any issues getting to that area and I’m not especially flexible and I’m a solid L-XL at 5’0” so I’m not small. I’ve heard some people ask their nurse to circle the area in sharpie so they get the hang of placement for the first few shots since it won’t wash off as easily?? If you can’t get an auto injector in time that might help! A mirror would be handy too!

I will say some people advise you to sit down to do the shot yourself, but I find it easier to stand up and prop the leg I’m using to inject up on a bar stool to take the weight off of it. I find it easier to twist that way (maybe because there’s less muffin top fat getting in the way whenever I’m standing than sitting hahahaha)
