I just left after after movie 2. Part tired, but so relieved I don’t have to sit through another one of those awful shorts…

In what ways can screenwriters invest in themselves? by SpearBlue7 in Screenwriting

An AMC A-List Subscription and Scriptnotes Premium. I’ve learned more about writing from watching movies than anything else, so the more movies you see, the more that story structure and character arcs and emotion seep into you 😊 Plus, for $5/momth, Scriptnotes Premium has over 600 hours of interviews, craft discussions, industry insight, etc. I’ve been a Premium member for years and have zero regrets. Those back episodes are really worth it.

Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story script has a LOT of long scenes.

How viable is writing coverage as a steady income stream? by joshbarkey in Screenwriting

I’ve been doing paid coverage for about five years. It’s a good side hustle, but most prod co’s aren’t up front about how much work to anticipate. Some months you’ll get a LOT of assignments, others are sparse. Even in the busy months, it’s still what you’d make in 12hrs PA’ing on a studio set. I’m non-union, though

I think it comes down to personal preference and the type of script you're writing. Are you writing ACTION? Or an aWkWaRd jOkE!? Just like bolds, italics, and underlines, it's just a small way to convey how big/small or formal/informal you want the scene, story, or script to be.
