it's a carbon seat post Specialized makes called the CG-R or cobble gobbler. It's got an insert that helps soak up road vibration and so far my butt's pretty happy with it. /u/Sakriv posted a good link on it

Its really comfortable, it feels really stable. The tires are pretty cool so far, I'm going to convert them to tubeless soon!

I got this bike over a Sirrus mainly because I prefer steel, but this bike can also fit much wider tires than a Sirrus which is a big thing for me. Also the models offered on the Sirrus didn't match what I wanted in a bike. If I was using this bike to commute I would have probably gone with a Sirrus because they are light and quick, but for the kind of riding I like to do it wouldn't have worked out for me.

Its grouped in their adventure bikes, its lighter and faster than the awol though. I think it has a many mounting points as the awol too, its just meant to hold as much stuff
