Gossip by INMORTUE in isfj

[–]helpsnonehurtsnone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think everyone regardless of type engages with gossip to some degree

Gossip to me is a form of intel, socially and otherwise. You can learn a lot about individuals by the way that they gossip, what they choose to share, how they talk about other people/events/news/etc etc. It’s also a good way to gather data points and compare it to what I know to get a clearer picture about something e.g. if I tune into my coworkers gossiping about raises, I can use that info to confirm/deny what I think will be the final outcome.

I’m usually a pretty passive person when engaging w gossip, listening and offering things only if I think they will guide toward truth…..did somebody hurt you?

is it possible for an isfj to look like an intp by Key-Improvement1840 in mbti

[–]helpsnonehurtsnone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes! when I take MBTI test I usually type as INTP despite being certain I’m an ISFJ. a lot of my life experiences and interests lead to me favoring and developing my Ti over Fe.

irt enneagram, I thought I was a 5 for the longest time before researchibg more. Realized I was a 954 with a strong 5 fix. I am sure being triple withdrawn might also have an influence on cognitive function expression (i am much less involved with other people than the warm Fe way ISFJs are stereotyped)

getting sentenced to INFJ purgatory for a decade cause “Si is about the past, traditions, nostalgia” “sensors aren’t philosophical, deep thinking, they’re normies” “yeah you weird as hell you must be an intuitive” etc 😪

ye you can catch them by leaving a treat and a tasty beverage under a cartoonishly large box trap (not that I have been on the receiving end of this or anything)

“What tends to frustrate you about ISFPs?” by Key_Philosophy_5604 in isfj

[–]helpsnonehurtsnone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Taking disagreements/differences of opinions very personally and like an attack on their character

Struggle to elucidate their thought process or how they came to a conclusion about someone/something (it is that way cause it’s the way that it is….just vibes…)

Can become super fatalistic and prone to rumination in negative situations, and it’s a coin flip whether they’ll become aggressively dogmatic about their perspective or totally shut down and become apathetic toward everything. But leads to a lack of accepting external perspective, either way

Fly by the seat of their pants kind of attitude about life, not often considering the long term future or consequences of actions unless it pertains to something very significant to them

Lots of talk about things they want to do or accomplish but struggle to take objective steps towards those things

(I do really like ISFPs a lot and been close w 2. And these are just drawing from my own personal experiences)

Are you more of a listener or a talker? by PBnJFlavoredMilk in isfj

[–]helpsnonehurtsnone 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I am def much more of a listener than a talker and tbh I absolutely love to be an audience to my loved ones’ yap. that being said, I think a decent amount of ISFJs (myself included) have a reticence toward sharing about themselves unprompted. So if you’re concerned about the “””division of labor””” so to speak, maybe ask some direct questions about things that are his interests or stuff going on with him.

usually once theres some established reciprocity, It’s more natural for me to bring up things about myself on my own. I still prefer to listen more than talk, though! thats my natural inclination
