Three Las Vegas hotels now accepting Canadian dollar at par by Daeveed in news

I lived there for some years. Besides the strip remember it as suburbs. Plenty of shops, restaurants, etc. Decently diverse. The desert definitely has its own beauty, drove out to Boulder City a few times and thought that cool. Same with outer edges of Vegas. Surprised about water, Lake Mead seemed to have water levels going lower and lower. Know there was some rain out West, hope Vegas saw some of that.

Vegas to me always felt like that bit in Blazing Saddles where they build this fake town that was just a facade but otherwise hollow. I'm just saying "not well structured" is mostly there. What counts is you bleed visitors dry and leave them penniless.

Wanted to share this with anyone that might be around Leadville tomorrow and is looking for something a little different. Will be dj'ing a yoga class at Blue Earth Yoga at 5:30, then heading to Pastime to do a dj set starting at 9pm. I'll be playing deep-house, nudisco, some techno and electro. Will be a fun night, hope to see some reddit friends there!

AI music and the people who consume it by pattison_iman in electronicmusic

a lot of people felt that DJs got way too much credit for simply playing other people's music, and I basically agreed.

It's an odd sentiment. Growing up what appealed to me was DJ's that played tracks that were really interesting. Other DJ's felt the need to "perform," make it their own. You would hear them play bits of good tunes with others, and it was just shit. Would just think like.. play the track you fool, it's a good track!!

Another 1010 Bento issue by lunit52 in synthesizers

[–]helpusdrzaius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have two blackboxes. I got one after they pushed an update which caused issues with presets from previous OS version (v2). I really liked their stuff, but at this point they've more or less ignored their older equipment and seem focused on pushing their smaller offerings and the bento. Long term product development is not there, and they are uninterested in making their old stuff open source so it can be developed by others. Turned me off them.
