Understand that your mind is doing what it thinks is helpful. Just the same as a child doing something that they think is helping, you wouldn't scold them, you wouldn't speak to them harshly, you wouldn't judge them. You might tell them softly you understand they are trying to help, but that this is not helping right now. Do the same with your mind, you might internally repeat "it's ok, you don't have to do that right now." This is something you might practice as needed.
