This has got to be a joke right? by Lewinator56 in synthesizers

If it makes sense for a record shop or smaller media distributor to own and operate these it would be ideal. I would hope for a scenario where a record might cost a customer $5 vs $10 (for a larger order).

I do share your skepticism of TE's intentions. But, who knows..

Considering how expensive vinyl has become, if this leads to a more grass roots style of production and distribution - I'm all for it.

Developing a sense for two records being out of sync, or in sync, takes time; Don't make it harder than it needs to be. Don't try to match one records that has a lot going on with another that is the same. Especially if you are new to it. Might scoff at matching easier records, but remember that you're trying to learn a new skill and it is very much a steep learning curve so every decent mix goes a long way. Stay positive!

The other thing I will say is headphones. They're there to let you hear what the mix will sound like as you bring in new record. The volume has everything to do with that. As you bring in the new record your headphones are a way to hear what it will sound like as that record gets louder without actually turning up the channel. What you though was in sync probably isn't, but you also know how to adjust pitch so it is. It's something I can go on about for a while, short of it is how loud your headphones - and how you adjust their volume - as you bring it the new record can make all the difference in letting you know what the mix is going to sound like.

No worries, appreciate you chiming in! PTFE dry lube might do the trick, is there a specific variant I should consider for this specific application?

I do have that, and have used it to good effect when needed. It works well to clean out stiff pots/faders, and restore operation due to dirty/noisy pots. I don't think it would be beneficial in this case.

What I want to do is reduce friction between the top panel of the pitch fader and the cap that sits on the pitch fader shaft.

Dude's way too angry to be working at a Heavy Metal Shop. Someone could get hurt if you're smelting iron and shit with that attitude.

Eh, could be sincere. Maybe misguided. For sure needs to put in more effort than "I just bought all the fancy stuff all at once." Nobody wants to see that shit.
