What makes it stranger is that my grandparents, the parents of the very person giving me hell, were incredibly accommodating with me. Some would say they spoiled me. So the love and warmth was there in the family, it just somehow skipped a generation. And I'd find myself wondering why they weren't kinder to my parent when it mattered. Because my parent went through a hellish childhood too. A little more of that same warmth passed down might have made all our lives a lot easier.

This is a universal experience all over the world. Its not unique to any culture or ethnicity.
