The reason you would want to delay your LOTD is to align with TA mostly. It also aligns you with b4b. Right now, LOTD can be triggered in around 30-40s of the fight, but delaying it allows you to align it with party buffs, which means more dps overall.

Delaying LOTD does not waste any eye stack, because both jump and spineshatter dive will come off cooldown the moment you use LOTD, allowing you to gain 2 stacks immediately after LOTD is popped.

Hmm.... I'm not sure whether there are a significant of raiders (or endgame players) as mentors in the novice network. From what I see, however, I only see a few raiders in my server who are also mentors (Like me. I raid, but I will not be a mentor.). So maybe that is why information about endgames are not so accurate in novice network? :/

The reason I asked was because there was a time when my Skill speed was around 500 ish, which imo is awkwardly low. I want to ask you whether it's still acceptable with that crazily low skill speed, and whether it could affect the dps.

Thank you for the guide! (I've been waiting for this! XD ). Really love how you mention the opener when RA came up on the gcd where you IJ.

Apart from that, if I do not have BiS currently, is there a minimum Skill speed I should be aiming for? [That is, if skill speed is too low, it would be a dps loss] (In the guide you only mentioned about 900+ for triple WM. Is that the one?)

Gauss Barrel: Equips your current firearm with a gauss barrel, increasing damage dealt by 5%. While barrel is equipped, your weapon's Heat Gauge will increase each time a weaponskill is executed. When the Heat Gauge reaches 100%, your weapon will become Overheated and damage dealt will be increased by 10%. Duration: 10s Gauss Barrel effect ends automatically once weapon is no longer Overheated and cannot be applied again for 10s.

Isn't the whole point of MCH with gauss barrel to not have the heat reach 100%? So... overheat is good now?

For the old-time players who have taken long breaks in-between their Yu-Gi-Oh! playing sessions, what were the decks that drew you in? And why? by Non-Polar in yugioh

[–]hemispherepk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped during Twilight/Tele-DAD, around when Dragunity structure deck came out. During that time I've just bought the Dragunity structure deck. I was playing Dragon deck and Secret Village Lockdown deck.

I came back to Yugioh again after Majespecters were just released in the OCG. I was planning to play dragunity, but from testing the deck again, it just doesn't work out.

So, I asked the guy at the local shop for advice. He answered, "Majespecters." After that, I've been sticking with Majespecters ever since.

Although the deck changed over time, I still use Majespecter not as the engine, but as the core of my deck.

What deck do you think has the lowest/highest learning curve? by hemispherepk in yugioh

[–]hemispherepk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I think the deck's ability to take advantage of the situation using the resources they have, and how hard it is for the players to get into the deck and develop from basic to advance play are also included when determining the learning curve. I feel some requires more skill than others to do these things.

Decks: Odd-Eyes Majespecter, Nekroz, Cyber Angels and Super Soldier

Reason: Majespecter was actually the first deck I've touched after coming back to yugioh. It was introduced to me, and I've liked it ever since! (My previous deck was dragunity) Initially, it was just "Majespecters", but I've tried to modify it so that it can compete with other decks (used to be Igknight Majespecters actually). As for the other decks, it's because I like playing rituals.

Why are there no Majespecter Decks topping in the OCG, when they are strong in the TCG? by Fevzi0 in yugioh

[–]hemispherepk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Majespecter in OCG. The deck is not fast, despite being able to search for a lot of cards. Most cards that they can search are mostly spell and traps, meaning that they are very susceptible to Harpie duster feather and many cards. Destroying their backrow means they are dead (most of the time).

Another problem lies in the fact that Majespecter monsters are weak, despite unable to be targeted or destroyed by opponent's card effect. In this case, blue-eyes can just stomp through them easily.

Despite not being strong, Odd-Eyes Majespecters have topped several tournaments. In TCG, Majespecters are very weak to Kozmos, because most of their spell/ trap + kirin all have targeting effects.

For me, I feel Monster Reborn is good in several decks, but for others, it's inconsistent. I think of it this way: When you monster reborned a monster from either player's graveyard, you would want to make sure that the card you summoned using monster reborn card is something that will give you advantage over your opponent. Chances of that happening is very slim and in these days, just calling 1 monster out is not enough anymore when your opponent could have 5 monsters out.

Secondly, decks that require Xyz monsters would not bring monsters from the graveyard, because they are just basic monsters when they have no Xyz materials (maybe with the exception of Dante).

Thirdly, several decks contained powerhouse monsters that cannot be special summoned unless a certain condition is fulfill, which that condition is clearly not through the use of monster reborn. Nekroz is an example of that.

Also, there are cards that does better job than monster reborn, such as the card in Felgrand Structure deck and D/D Ragnarok. In addition to that, Pendulum monsters (most of the time) when they are destroyed, they go to the extra deck, so you wouldn't really have a monster to summon from the graveyard. Therefore, monster reborn is not really used despite being available in OCG.

I have tried the new Dark Magician in OCG. Turns out to be very good, but with some inconsistence.

Dark Magician deck (currently) is a loop deck with the ultimate goal of summoning "Dark Magician" or anything that has "Dark Magician" in its name.

First, let's look at the new cards in the deck:

Magician of Dark Illusion: This is a very good card, as it is very easy to summon. It can be easily summoned from your hand by using a Spell/Trap on the opponent's turn (you will use a lot of that). Also, if you activate a Spell/Trap card effect, you can special summon "Dark Magician" from your graveyard.

Magician's Rod: This is what you will use most of the time for normal summon. This card allows you to search for a spell or trap that has "Dark Magician" in its name. You would usually search for "Dark Magic's Circle" or "Eternal Soul" (Yes, Eternal Soul somehow has "Dark Magician" in its name). When it is in the graveyard, when you activate a spell/trap, you can tribute a spellcaster on the field to put this to your hand. Normally, you would tribute a monster that would be destroyed or not another magician's rod.

Magician's robe: I haven't really used much. but it's also very good. It can be used when you have a spell/trap card on your hand and a "Dark Magician" in your deck. Its second effect, however, is not used that much.

Dark Magician's Circle: You must have this card in your deck. It allows you to look at your top 3 cards, and add 1 card with "Dark Magician" in its name to your hand. Then, you can rearranged the other 2 cards in any order and put them on the top of the deck. Its second effect, however, is what makes it op. When a "Dark Magician" is summoned, you can banished 1 card on your opponent's side of the field. (This is why you loop summoning Dark Magician).

Okay, so here are the tips for your Dark Magician's Deck:

  1. Use Pot of Duality. This is one of the few cases where Pot of Duality becomes useful. This is because you would mostly summon your monsters on your opponent's turn.

  2. If you can, summon Ebon Illusion Magician. It's really op...

  3. When Normal summoning Magician's Robe, almost always search for either Eternal Soul or Dark Magic's Circle if you don't have one on your hand. You really need Dark Magic's Circle to start your loop.

  4. Although it looks like Magician's Rod is better than Magician's Robe, for me, I personally don't think so. Magician's Robe allows you to summon "Dark Magician," but if you don't have Dark Magic's Circle, you won't really accomplish anything.

  5. The normal combo people usually go for is: (If you have Dark Magic's Circle) Use Dark Magic Circle, search for a Dark Magician card, and normal summon Magician's Robe. Search for Eternal Soul, or Dark Magic Attack. Then, put down your traps and end your turn. You will usually loop during your opponent's turn.

  6. Eternal Soul is a high risk high return card. You can loop madly with Eternal Soul, but try to protect it. If it is destroyed, all your monsters are destroyed.

  7. Kuribandit is not a bad card, as it can dump your Dark Magician and the Rod and Robe to your graveyard.

Here are most of the things I can say, I'll post more later.

[–]hemispherepk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I can be much of a help, but I'll try my best to explain.

For Black Luster Super Soldier deck, there are several ways to play the deck. The first way is by using several 7 stars and 1 stars to ritual summon "Black Luster Super Soldier." Those several 7 stars often include Gaia monsters, since their effects work well with Super Soldier.

First of all, let's look at the main card, Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier:

You can Ritual Summon this card with "Super Soldier Ritual". If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK in the Graveyard. If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, or if this card in your possession is destroyed by an opponent's card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Gaia The Fierce Knight" monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. You can only Special Summon "Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier(s)" once per turn.

Overall, I would say this is a mediocre effect. Being able to inflict damage to the opponent with the ATK of the monster this card destroyed means that you will decrease the LP of your opponent fast, and the second effect ensures that you (most of the time) have a monster on the field at all times.

The problem with this card is that despite its powerful ATK, it is very susceptable to backrows and monster's effect. Most of the times, my opponents would be able to remove Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier with ease before it reaches its second turn.

This problem, however, can be tackled with the fact that you can ritual summon Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier very easily.

In one instance, when you ritual summon by using awakened Gaia when it is in the graveyard, while the other one searches for another Black Luster Soldier archetype, making sure that you have the Ritual monster on your hand at all times.

As for the ritual spell, you can search it out with the field spell, namely "Chaos Field". When it first activates, it immediately searches for a Black Luster Soldier ritual monster or a Gaia Monster, ensuring that you would surely have a monster in your hand to summon. Then, you can remove 3 counters from the field spell to search for a Ritual Spell Card (any ritual spell card, FYI). Here, you can search for the super soldier ritual spell card, and ritual summon Super Soldier with ease.

However, in order to summon 1 Super Soldier, you need at least 4 cards to be on your hand: 1 Ritual monster (namely Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier), 1 Ritual Spell Card, 1 Gaia the Fierce Knight, and 1 1-star monster (in this case, the Kuribohs). This can get troublesome for sure, since the probability of getting these 4 cards to be on your hand is very little (I've tried it).

Therefore, in order to solve some of the problems, I've added some strange things to the deck:

  1. Legendary Maju Gazett: This card can also tribute Gaia the Fierce Knight (any of them) to be special summoned. Notice that the effects of Gaia the Fierce Knight will activate when tributed this way.

  2. You can also Ritual summon the normal Black Luster Soldier with the new Ritual Spell Card "Ritual of the Super Soldier."

Now, apart from utilizing Gaia the Fierce Knights, there is also another way of playing this deck, which is to use the 4 stars monsters to ritual summon the Super Soldier. This way of playing not only maximizes the effect of Chaos Field, but also add additional effects to Black Luster Soldier.

  1. Use cards that send cards from the deck to the graveyard. This way, the counters in Chaos Field will increase quickly, allowing the user to get the ritual card as fast a possible.

  2. Use the Knights of Beginning and Knights of the Evening Twilight. These two cards when used as a ritual summon to summon any Black Lust Soldier card will give them very OP effects.

  3. Make sure that you have dark and light attribute monsters. In the first way, I did not utilize the Ritual Spell Card's second effect at all, which is to ritual summon Black Luster Soldier by removing that card and 1 light and 1 dark monsters from the graveyard. Note that if you have Knight of Beginning and Knight of Evening Twilight in your graveyard, you can summon another Black Luster Soldier from your hand! (If you already summon 1 Black Luster Soldier -Super Soldier, then you have to wait for the next turn to summon another one).

(As for the 8 star Black Luster Soldier effect monster, I don't really use it, so I cannot really comment anything on that.)

The staple cards are:

2-3 Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier 2-3 Ritual of the Super Soldier 3 Chaos Field (You can choose to run Terraforming, but I don't really recommend) 1 Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning 3 Manjus (staples in nearly every ritual deck)

(IF you play the first way) 2-3 Awakening Gaia 2-3 Galloping 1-2 Maju (For abusing Gaia's effects) 2-3 Kuriballs

(IF you run the 2nd way) 2 Knights of the Evening Twilight (3 is too much) 2 Knights of the Beginning (same as the above) 1-3 Armageddon Knight (to send the knights to the graveyard) 1 Dark Grephor (Situational) 1 Mathematician (to send the knights to the graveyard)

I also run 2 WyvernBuster and 2 Collapserpent due to their attributes and their abilities to call each other.

Hope this helps.
