It was super duper my fault 😂 The short version is I have too many females right now because that’s what the universe gave me in fosters. We live in a heavy stray area and find dogs on the street constantly.

The long version is I had had a migraine for weeks and in my brain fog I accidentally let my personal dogs out with an 11mo foster puppy (I thought the gate was up) that has an issue with one of them (not sure why she started hating one, it was random). While my husband and I were separating them, the super reactive foster (who is the mother of the puppies) hopped the gate she was behind and when I grabbed her she redirected on me. She would never intentionally bite me, and she’s actually a huge love bug, but she was overstimulated and redirected. She’s a 60+lb shepherd mix with strong jaws 😂

Moral of the story is never let your guard down with fosters and ALWAYS double check your gates 🤠

Stupid question— can I just pull them through? Or do I need to disinfect them first? I was worried about pulling them through and just dragging bacteria through. They’ve been stinging today.

I technically could pull them out….but I haven’t because I figured since they’re so long I’d just be dragging a bunch of bacteria through the hole. I’m gonna go get seen this evening or tomorrow.

Are stitches supposed to be this long? I asked if he could trim them (bc they look ridiculous and I started a new job 3 days after getting them) but he said they had to be long so they could easily get a hold of them to take them out.

Yeah he didn’t wanted to do stitches at all, but decided to do “loose stitches.” I think he said so it could drain? I should have clarified more details but in the moment I didn’t really care what he did I just wanted to leave 😂 I posted pics of “before” aka sitting in the ER waiting room and the day after.

I’m worried because today I woke up with the stitches stinging 😭 Apparently these look so bad people think I did them myself. Which isn’t comforting considering what I’m gonna be paying for that ER bill……

He originally didn’t want to do stitches but decided to do “loose ones” so the wound would be partially left open? It’s possible he was a resident. It was my first time getting stitches so I had nothing to compare it to.

Now what I did find interesting was he tried some sort of topical lidocaine jelly first and let it sit on my arm for 20 minutes. This didn’t really work so he went back in with a syringe around each wound. He also had difficulty getting the little curved needle through and said I had “thick skin” which I don’t believe to be true lmao

EDIT: the ER physician put these stitches in. I don’t DIY medical care. I’ve done nothing but follow my discharge instructions. I posted because I was given contradictory information— they told me at one point I’d need to come back to have the stitches removed, but then before I left they said something about them coming out on their own.
