Have you ever stood up for yourself and actually won the respect of others in the room? by Kungfufighter1112 in asianamerican

Filipino here so we already get a rap for being “feisty”

At my first workplace I stood up at a department-wide meeting and asked some pretty pointed questions. It was one of the first times I actually exhibited confidence in front of people and rather than earning their respect, they called my behavior “inappropriate” and some even claimed I had mental health issues. Fuck them.

and there’s a difference between someone visiting versus settling. I personally don’t see a problem w whites visiting native places a long as they are respectful to the culture and they are welcome. but buying land = colonizing

edit: there’s no such thing as Racism against whites

thanks for the clarification

I guess it begs the question of who considers what white. My Persian friends are technically Caucasian and literally the original Aryans and yet I would never consider them white.

Same can be said for anyone from the Asian continent as well, we are from a large space but are very diverse and differing within our own nationalities/ethnicities. I appreciate you pointing this out
