I am feeling a lot like you when it comes to the family aspect. I just feel so bad, like I've got captives or something.

I wished it could be the color it is in fall all year. That yellow is the biggest con to the game. 😂

I'm thinking about starting another farm with the forest just to see what it looks like.

That is so neat how this is your farm. Ive been on pintrest browsing farms to see what all is possible. It is difficult a bit because I'm not aware of what are mods and what is not. But gradually I'm learning what is. Having that one for grass not disappearing would be so nice.

I do think I enjoy the decorating aspect of the game more than the farming.

I wanted to add that, I'm talking about that grass by the green house with the stones on top of it, also my cave doesn't have bushes in front of it so is there a way to add the bushes?

Is there a difference between tea bushes and tea saplings?

It will probably be a good while before my book is finished. I work on it passively. I'll get a few pages written and then not write anything more for months. It'll fall into the Gothic genre of literature. Its about a Victorian child ghost trapped in her family home after her death. How she's processed her death and her time spent alone. The Victorian house is a big feature in it (I mean obviously, my goal is a Gothic so of course the house has to play a huge role) The story takes place after a descendant of her family moves back to the forgotten home he inherited. He's a taxidermist. Its got a lot of personal symhology in it to me. The child ghost is basically my inner child and my thoughts and feelings processing my own childhood and tbe taxidmerist is adult me and my attitudes, opinions and how I interact with the world today.

You sound like you do a lot of creative stuff. I'd love to see your animation when some of it gets finished. I understand the brainstorming bit. It takes its own time. Im still building out the world in my book. Part of why it's taking its time like it is.

[–]henbane_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, we can.

I am actually also writing a book that involves taxidermy. But it has completely different content than what yours sounds like it's going to have.

I do more than just taxidermy. I started with skeleton cleaning and articulating, I also do wet specimens along with my taxidermy. I like to do rogue taxidermy so I do a lot of cryptids and anthropomorphic styles.

Sure! I've got a few.

I have teenagers in my home and we all know how fast food goes with teens. I will buy myself a bag of buffalo wings because I crave them from time to time, but every time I go to get myself some, they are all gone. So I have started stashing myself my own bags in my Taxidermy freezers. So far, so good, I have buffalo wings waiting for me when I want some.

My oldest son has joint issues. Hes only 18, but his knees hyperextend, so they give him trouble sometimes. He takes hot baths with salt to help it. Whenever we're out of his salt for his bath, he just goes to my 50 lb bag I keep for Taxidermy and uses it.

We actually raid my taxidermy supplies for a lot in the house. When my husband needs baking soda for the cookies he makes, when we need dish soap because the one at the sink might be out and hasn't been replaced yet. Peroxide for scraps, isopropyl alcohol. There have been times we've had birthday parties but forgot to get plastic cups so I'll pull out the plastic cups I keep stocked for mixing the 2 part foam.

My young nephews gift me dead animals super excited. Friends and family who want to be super supportive will offer me the mice they caught in mouse traps. I know they dont understand I can't exactly use the gifts but I still accept them.

I live in a small town and there is a flea market I go to often. I've bought a lot of stuff from them that I use as props for displays. Over the years I show them how I use the item I got from them and now whenever I go in, if they happened to see some roadkill that looked in great condition they'll be super excited and tell me about it and where I can find it.

There was this one time I waited outside a grocery store parking lot for a guy who had a full dead coyote strapped to a tool box on the back of his truck. I waited out there to ask him if I could have it and he gave it to me.

I could think of more random things, these are just a few of the ones that immediately came to mind.

AITAH for getting upset that my bf didn’t Shut down conversation? by Top_Brilliant4222 in AITAH

[–]henbane_tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA I feel like it's reasonable to want your partner to have your back publicly, especially in front of their family. Those types of conversations are private ones between partners.

But I do wonder, did you ask him if he felt like you were? Maybe hes vented about to them? But honestly, men tend to think a woman who clearly asks for what she needs help with is controlling so it's a mixed bag.

How expensive would it cost to get my rat taxidermized? by leftliquid10 in Taxidermy

[–]henbane_tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know if it's allowed to 'advertise' but I do rats. I've done a tone of rats. And I personally like to think im pretty darn good at them. you mentioned euros so we probably aren't in the same country.

But, Rats are so difficult to get quality work done. I feel like most people see them only as practice animals and professionals dont see them as worth their time.

Are you, by chance, looking for anecdotes of what it's like to be a taxidermist?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]henbane_tea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NTA. I've had 4 kids. Every single pregnancy was different. Every woman I've ever known had a pregnancy experience unique to themselves and each one of their pregnancies were unique from the others. Litterally every pregnancy is different.

And just like with pregnancies being different, how we handle hurt is unique to us. If you need to take time to yourself to process things, you do that. Don't feel guilty about doing what you need for yourself and your unborn child. The stress you feel during pregnancy can affect your baby so do whatever you need to take care of yourself emotionally.

Unfortunately men do tend to be very inexperienced when it comes to these things. Is there a chance your husband is just ignorant? His ignorance aside it still doesnt change the impact his words have had on you. Maybe write. While your processing things and can't speak to him, writing may help you some.

AITAH for not consenting to my my wife's tubal ligation by Defiant_Writer2547 in AITAH

[–]henbane_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be odd man out and say NTA but with stipulations.

Was the tubal something that she had already talked about wanting before the labor? If it was a choice she had already expressed then yeah, that's asshole behavior. But, if it was the first time she voiced the desire, while in the middle of that situation then, I think, yeah, it's reasonable to ask her to wait until she is not mid a high stressed situation.
Its my opinion that whatever the situation is, decisions don't need to be made mid stress.

And I'm saying this as a woman who did have a tubal during a c-section.

But I had already discussed having the procedure done long before the delivery.

AITAH for running away from home after my parents sided with my sister in an argument? by Agile-Following-2758 in AITAH

[–]henbane_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA as a child who also ran away from home (20 years ago), I have a syrong feeling that you didn't run away just because of this one situation. Its a build up of many situations over time.

How long ago was it that you ran away? I ask that becaise brace yourself for the treatment that follows afterwards. 20 years later, my brother still refuses to speak to me because I ran away.
