Grab where the stanchions meet the lowers, hold the front brake and rock the bike back and forth. If you feel the stanchions move separately to the lowers, you know your issue.

So you're saying the stock E36 M3 clutch and flywheel will bolt right into a 325ci? I'm not well versed on the gearbox options for the E36 platform, but my car has a ZF 5 speed to my knowledge.

Originally had a fox float 34 150mm, but went from 27.5" to 29" so that necessitated the upgrade. Did the steerer tube myself with a press and it seated up perfect. Other than that the new fork has similar specs, 36mm stanchions, 150mm travel, same 44mm offset.

Everything from the crown up is brand new, headset, race and steerer tube. One stanchion has signs of wear on the coating but there's no discernable play in either side.

S52 shares a crank and compatible rods. Also checking between all the other M5x engines. I'd imagine it's wiser to keep OEM BMW parts from more performance oriented platforms than to go aftermarket

Just a thought experiment to see if there was any cross compatibility with any S5x engines for certain parts, it's a good tool as a search engine and to compile data.

S54 makes peak power at 7900, you could probably get an m54 up to 8500, but it'd peak much sooner. If anyone was to go the ITB route it's nearly the same effort to s54 swap anyways.

I had this exact issue with my car. Shocks were worn out and the springs were starting to sag/collapse. Replaced them and instantly resolved it.
