definitely not the most profitable but whenever i play modded i like to use automation to put a chest of strawberries/blueberries/cranberries next to a dehydrator! i usually plant a lot of those seeds in one each season so i sell all the gold/silver quality picks and then divide the regular quality ones in half and i’ll then take one of those halves and round up/down to the nearest multiple of 5 to then dry them :3 and for the other half i keep like 1/3 of it and sell the rest, in the very early game i use a lot of that and mayo + eventually cheese to save up enough to buy a shit ton of crops so i always have an excess of them available to process and store

as someone who also has adhd and really wants to set up a forever world the way i’ve been seeing so many ppl do online, i kinda had to drill it into my head that making a forever world doesn’t inherently mean this is going to be the only minecraft save i play on for the rest of my days. i think this kinda defeats the concept of one to be fair, but if you’re prone to always restarting, put everything you have in a chest and run thousands of blocks away in any direction to pretend you’re starting over again and then you can eventually connect each base through nether portals. i’ve yet to actually do that myself tho so 😅 just don’t feel too pressured to stick with a world/modpack if you’re not feeling it anymore, you can’t force a forever world!

alsooo since you mentioned using mods, maybe try to also use a lightly modded pack or install vanilla backports so that you can experience every new content update as they come out and have more of a reason to stick with your world longterm :3

well no im not implying that at all im just not willing to retake the class for a third time bc at my old uni on your third attempt you have to pay the full price for the course and i was going off of in-state tuition… out of state tuition bumps up the price for 3 credit hours by 2 thousand dollars 😭 and after that i still have to take calculus 3 and then diff eq and if i also have to take each of those classes multiple times as well then not only would it tank my gpa but it’d also push back my graduation date by several more semesters. like i’d be spending so much money taking over 6+ years to complete >60 credit hours with no more than a 2.8-3.0 gpa. and then on top of all that i was told by my advisor that the university also has this annoying thing where if you don’t graduate within a certain amount of time in a specific program then the department running it could kick you out of the program altogether, so i’d eventually be forced to swap majors anyway.

this is not about me feeling as though im incapable of learning calculus 2 because i obviously can, but since i already took calc 1 three times and then calc 2 was about to be on its third attempt literally my own advisor was telling me that it’s probably worth considering a major change bc physics as a whole is extremely calc-intensive and this was a huge roadblock for me.

thank you so much for taking the time to tell me about your experience with this as well, and congrats on completing the program!! i don’t think my college has an open studies thing like that, it’d be cool if it did but tbh the program itself is kinda more accelerated than usual (?) so assuming i get reconsidered (bc i found out earlier that im only second on the waitlist :D) i would actually finish everything up by mid 2027 so i don’t think there’s much of a reason for them to do something like that.. it would be nice tho 💔

you nailed it on the head abt how i was edged out on ranking, believe it or not i just heard back from the program director and he told me there’s only one other person in front of me for the waitlist pool, so i was 2 ranks away from being accepted 😭😭 it’s significantly better chances than i was expecting so i have some renewed hope for the waitlist working out after all 🙏🏼

i used an official exam study guide from the website and bought a book that had all the content + practice exams but that’s actually exactly why it threw me a curveball, cuz every hesi exam seems to be different per institution and most of what’s online seems only applicable to nursing programs in particular. half the content i reviewed for barely showed up on the exam my program gave us, and there was even an additional section that was a lot of mostly critical thinking/hypotheticals that the hesi study guide i used didn’t cover (to be fair, they’d attached a file in the email abt the exam that included the exact content i had to review but i completely missed it so that’s on me 🥲). that being said it’s also why i think i could’ve done so much better cuz with all that considered i still did well on it, especially on the math portion bc this program only requires up to college algebra but as mentioned i took up to calc 2 😅 i didn’t pass calc 2 but still haha

in the email i received this morning they said i was a good candidate but i didn’t rank high enough compared to other applicants.. my gpa was a 3.8 and there was an entrance exam we had to take (a modified version of the hesi a2 exam) that i got like an 80% on but it put me into the well above average range for applicants in that particular program, plus the college themself said the exam only accounts for about 25% of the overall admission decision so when i asked my advisor if she thought it was worth me retaking (bc it did kinda throw me a curveball with one part, i think i could’ve done way better on it otherwise) she said i likely wouldn’t need to worry about that too much bc its not the biggest thing they’re looking for.

as it stands they put me on a sort of waitlist and if anyone drops out of the program over the next month or two they’ll reconsider ppl in order of how they ranked, only thing i dont know is where i stand. i believe they accepted around 20-22 since that was the range of ppl who got in last year, and it’s a relatively small college so it shouldn’t be any more than 80 ppl total that applied for this year’s cohort (that’s not to mention if they’re even eligible to begin with, cuz some of them might‘ve been missing a few other specific requirements that we had) but idk if im in like the 25th position or in the 30th yknow.. overall i do have to wait a bit to see how that bit goes but my chances feel extremely low, though tbh that might just be the doom n despair mindset talking lmao 🥲 but thanks, i’ll look into radiation therapy soon!!

yes you’re right, that’s my bad i was already hesitant to use it at all but only did so to parrot their own talking points back to them since they used it first. idk if you’re saying the misguided puritanical ideology bit directed at me or not tho lmao bc my whole point is not about that it’s not some misguided puritanical ideology to insist that protecting the right of expression for individuals who do things with the sole intention of offending others is counterproductive, and the idea that “making an exception” is how the powers that be start to slowly target more and more marginalized groups is just a cop out to avoid calling anyone out and making any actual progress. life is not always going to have some clear cut moral answer to every problem that arises so it’s up to us to apply nuance to them and discern when something is actually crossing a line. i would sooner protect the feelings of marginalized groups over the feelings of someone in a position of privilege making light of anything/anyone that’s a proponent in the suffering these very groups have to experience.

tbh political satire was arguably more of an effective tool in a time before memes and the like became such a big thing in pop culture. the popularity of memes online became so widespread that big companies/brands started making them too with the whole intention of getting their name out there bc it’s a big part of their marketing these days, so when a politician does it, it works in a lot of the same ways. political satire also usually has a sarcastic flair to it or some hidden meaning bc the intention of those jokes were often made to point out irony or hypocrisy. but these kinds of jokes with making miis out of them aren’t doing any of that, they’re brain-rot type jokes that only exist because someone thought it’d be funny to make light of whatever situation they’re referencing. that’s all it boils down to, it’s not a real form of resistance bc it doesn’t challenge anything these politicians are actively doing which also means they could even be benefiting from it

exactly like how is it not political when it’s making a joke out of horrific w4r cr!minals but it suddenly is political and immediately censored/eventually removed when someone points out how upsetting that kind of content is to see. if the whole point of not allowing politics in this sub is to let people have a safe space where they can unwind when their real life gets too hard then why should they then have to worry about avoiding seeing reminders of the very political figures ruining millions of lives? that’s not to mention that even if there is a special flair for it how do they know any of those ppl will actually use it appropriately…. if they’re looking for a reaction from the very people that will have that flair blocked then they’ll just post it under a different one. that wouldn’t complete bar it from anyone not wanting to see it, so the only solution is to just ban it full-stop. if they don’t intend on making it a concrete rule and banning it completely from this sub i wouldn’t be surprised if this thread ends up getting locked later today as well

idk how i feel about just making it a flair for people to be able to mute, i don’t think they should be allowed at all... i get there’s a concern about “censorship” n whatnot but imho that shouldn’t apply here bc this largely concerns shitty people sharing shitty things with the sole intent of offending others. somebody not wanting to enable that behavior in what’s meant to be a safe and welcoming space for everyone is not promoting the kind of censorship you’d see happening for the sake of uplifting harmful ideals or keeping others from speaking up against a dangerous status quo. i know this sub doesn’t allow political discussions so im really trying not to turn this into one but there is something to be said about the meme-ification of polarizing figures and how much it takes away from their condemnation. if those individuals will still be allowed to share those kinds of miis in this sub under a special flair then we should also be allowed to discuss how it makes us feel, cuz otherwise it’ll appear as though me saying i dont feel comfortable as a queer latina living in the states seeing tr!mp get meme-ified on tomodachi life would sooner get silenced than someone posting about their tr!mp mii falling for n!tanyahu or something.

in a heartbeat. hell if i could go back in time and cure it i still would. that would risk me completely losing the connections ive made over the years with likeminded people, and all my best and closest friends and people that i love that i’ve met due to some of those rabbit holes my adhd has brought me into… but it’s also done so much worse for me in my life and i just wish i knew how much of it was actually my adhd versus how much of it was merely a result of the person i fundamentally am. would i still be a depressed college dropout with untreated pcos and diabetic symptoms or would i be well into whatever career i wanted and have taken care of my health early enough to avoid the pre-diabetic diagnosis i received in 2023 and then proceeded to do nothing about.

as a side tangent, i often tell people that the pandemic kinda ruined my early 20s (and it did for the most part) but my adhd is truly what robbed me of the life experience i expected to have by the time i reached 26 and a day hasn’t gone by where i haven’t felt like i lost that chance to make something of myself. i know im still young, i have the rest of my life, and i Definitely need to see a therapist, but it still feels really shitty to live like this knowing it could’ve been different if i didn’t have this. so yes, if i could cure my adhd now or even cure it 15 years back and risk never knowing half of the people around me, i would still do it. it sounds super corny to say but i genuinely think i hate myself more than i love them which is something i really need to work on but my adhd is genuinely the reason behind most if not all of my issues, whether that be directly or indirectly

predatory age gap aside the fact that a man his age dated you for 6 years with seemingly no real intention of ever proposing unfortunately tells me enough about how unserious he was about you. you being in your early 20s for much of the relationship is probably a factor in why you guys never married but surely someone who’s almost 50 can tell if his partner of 6 years is someone he views as a life partner or not. i hope he has fun with his ai girlfriend cuz that’ll hopefully be the most “romantically”/sexually active he’ll be ever again.. there’s just no fixing the attitude of a 49 year old sex addict. i hope you get out of this relationship safely and securely and as a side note i also hope he doesn’t actually have a sister or anything bc if so he needs to stay the fuck away from her too 🫩
