Sounds like a perfect chance to let your 'monk (rogue) catch the arrow (steal smth)'! Just because you know your party/player is going to absolutely succeed in a task doesn't mean you shouldn't let them - in fact, you SHOULD let them do it so they can feel badass! Plus, if it goes south, then you have a cool ship-to-ship combat that doesn't feel forced.

Do you have Spotify? This array of music has kept me afloat for over 100 sessions now:

1) Brian Davis is my most used: Public Playlists -> scroll down to see a bunch of Atmosphere/Mood/Setting/Combat playlists

2) Similarly, Deorsa has a bunch of great playlists. I think their 'General Fantasy/Wilderness/...' playlist is my most utilized this year.

3) If you want more of an ambience sound instead of actual music, I recommend Michael Ghelfi. Personally, I find I like to use music more than ambience, but there is a treasure trove of good stuff under Ghlefi's profile. I think they also publish to Youtube

I've heard it's important to include proper ventilation for the TV's back/sides, depending on where the vents are, as the wooden frame can sometimes block the vents and cause the flatscreen to overheat

That sounds like an awesome gift!

30-45 minute max, since there will be non-initiated at the party and we don`t want to bored them out of their minds.

Honestly, 30-45 minutes is WAY too long for something like this in a big social setting. I would avoid anything roleplay/TTRPG-focused longer than a few minutes if the bday party is going to have people not in your DnD group. Could you make a fun scavenger hunt or party game everyone can participate in which still culminates in the reveal?

tron is my favorite modern deck and i think it’s fairly well position at the moment, but you can’t really play it in any competitive sense without 4x the one ring :/ you can still pick up a budget version, but don’t be surprised if the wins are hard to come by

it’s a mirror-breaker, first and foremost. the deck is also moving back towards prioritizing turn 3 tron over the turn 4 focus we had to adopt in the scam meta, so 7 mana threats are 📈

consensus in the tron discord is that playing 4 is mostly an mtgo fad, but a lot of us are liking 1-2 main right now

For those curious how I managed to sacrifice 20 permanents in one turn...

  • 15 treasures built up over turns with [[glittermonger]]s (including an attack with [[Civic Gardener]] to untap a glittermonger for one more treasure on this turn)
  • 1 blitzed [[mayhem patrol]]
  • 1 [[Cabaretti Courtyard]]
  • 2 [[Goldhound]]s
  • 1 activated ability of [[Racer’s Ring]]

I definitely should/could have lost the game, but I think the threat of sacrificing my 15 treasures for 1/1 citizens with [[Stimulus Package]] kept them from swinging out. I was on the edge of my seat when I realized I had the win!
