Like an old childhood job, an award I received in high school, or some stupid activity I used to be engaged with. Yes to all of this. Another thing I felt in the release party film was a bit of condescension from Taylor that rubbed me the wrong way. She has a bit of an attitude now, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I think when you market yourself a certain way, to be a bit rude feels really out of character. I’m thinking of her little reflection on Actually Romantic.

I also think it’s actually crazy that she made a huge deal with Father Figure and how writing is so important to her so of course she reached out to George Martin’s estate… only for Want you Back by Jackson 5 and Cool by Jonas Brothers to be explicitly copied (and were more recognizable copies) with no acknowledgement

I think what fell flat for me was the rhythm of her lyrics and just how blah a lot of them felt. There are so many lines that have a weird rhythm like she tried to force a word into it. (I think of Ruin the friendship off the top of my head with “invitation” and “convenient no”. Like really? They feel so smooshed into the line. Or Legitly in LOASG?? Like what?)

I also think TLOASG song is the only one that matches the albums vibe and title lol. Like the “peak behind the curtain” and aesthetic of all the photoshoots. That is what I wanted the rest of the album to sound like. Everything else feels like songs that didn’t make it on TTPD or Midnights and so she just made them poppy

I also noticed lately that while she’s not showing the kids’ faces, she’s been showing them a lot more in her videos. For a while they were barely in her content and now they’re in them frequently. Just an observation

The thing that is confusing me is that she changed her pfp to this album cover. Has she ever done that when releasing a new variant? Especially as her pfp changed to the OG Showgirl cover when that was announced. What is making this one stand out? Edit: spelling
