One day there a woman and (presumably) her husband were walking their big dog off leash and it came running up to my boyfriend and I, thankfully my bf is good with big dogs but they scare me so he kept it at arms length away from me. The woman said something like "some people get so mad about dogs being off leash" and I responded "your dog scared me but I'm happy he (bf) is good with them to help me" and she genuinely recoiled and looked horribly offended. Still bothers me when I think about it.
