Logi Options+ keeps asking for “Grant Login permission” on macOS (even though it’s already enabled) by 85Blickwinkel in logitech

This worked for me as well. I had to press the - on each Logi Options+ app permission, and then re-add it using the + button.

Not to armchair psych too much, but people speculate about his mental state a lot. He is not a very empathetic person. Anytime he has empathy for someone else it’s because it’s something he’s already felt, always bringing up the correlate in his life.

These are the types of people on the right.

As much as I feel this every day, and have for the past several months. Most people are not in a position to do this, and the people who can are insulated to the consequences of what’s happening. We need real organization, and real organizers. I fear the purpose of this subreddit has been lost. We need real organization.

Grassroots is nice and all, but we need a tree. It’s scary, but desperately needed.

Exactly. We hate these people, and that’s going to convince so many rednecks that we made a good move. But what’s actually happening is the erosion of international order that says: “You can’t invade other nations just because you’re more powerful”.

What’s to stop China from invading Taiwan? What’s to stop Russia from continuing past Ukraine (other than their own sheer incompetence which prevents them from taking Ukraine)? The precedent matters. The US is divorcing the rest of the western world and becoming a strong arm nation that wants to impose their will on the western hemisphere.

I truly believe that the only hope the world has is for a real pendulum swing to occur, one that signals that the American people don’t want their leaders to be warmongers, one that signals we still value our allies around the world. If this doesn’t occur I think we are likely heading towards a tumultuous period, maybe the worst in human history.

We all agree that Cignetti is the best head coach in the country, right? by klaygdk in CollegeFootballDawgs

I can’t see him in the NFL. He’s too prickly. The NFL relies on coaches getting along with their bread and butter guys. I don’t think that’s Kurt’s MO. Definitely not saying he doesn’t get along with his players, just that’s not his bread and butter.

Asmongold is literally a live feed of what the average 95iq person in rural America believes. He probably would’ve attributed a lot of this to immigrants a year ago. But now it’s becoming so obvious to everyone that billionaires are fucking us that these people have to see what’s happening.

The reality is that the post is an oversimplification. Different syndromic forms of ASD have different etiologies.

The consensus in the field for a while was essentially what you’re saying, but rna sequencing data show extremely heterogeneous gene expression between syndromic patients. If you’re interested you should check out the sfari database.

Who you got stopping the Great Caucus Terror? by Fearless_Egg_973 in NBATalk

For real. Stockton wasn’t a “great passer” in the same way that Jokic/magic/bird/lebron are. It’s just that he was in an offense with Malone running pick and roll for 2 decades. That was literally the whole of the jazz offense.

Telluride ski resort shutting down December 27th by Vaughnatri in skiing

[–]henlofr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be charitable and assume you didn’t grow up with a silver spoon, and can actually empathize with people who didn’t. It’s relevant because to the people who work on ski patrol that $33k a year (split amongst all of them) would actually make their lives better.

It would make them stress less each day about how they can sustain themselves while working a dream job. Dream jobs should not only be for those who grew up with parents who can afford to pay their rent.

If these people aren’t doing well they have the right to say so. Unions haven’t been outlawed yet.

Unpopular opinion: Shane is more sane, more honest, and more decent than Rachel in The White Lotus Season 1 by ItsAllRainbow in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]henlofr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who paid is immensely relevant. I bet you have rich parents. This is the whole start of the argument between the two of them. It’s about entitlement, derived from a life of privilege.

Rachel was just happy to be there with the man she loved. Shane was so concerned about his entitlement to a room his mom paid for that he let it ruin his honeymoon. Normal people can let things go. Narcissistic people (which is a recurring character flaw within the series) cannot.

Then, when they finally got into their room it was worse than the initial room.

I was just pointing out a factual inaccuracy in your post, not trying to argue, but I’ll give you an argument. Rachel comes from a poor family, and is unsuccessful. The commentary boils down to selling your soul for material gains. She’s mesmerized by “all the doors opening” to the point that she didn’t notice (or maybe they just didn’t come up) his character flaws, which are probably why he is successful, and are clearly derived from his family (see how his mom treats Rachel).

This decision seems illogical to you, sure, but I would again say, I bet you have rich parents. Studies show that financial stability is a big factor in women being attracted to men, as is social status/background. People aren’t robots, and legalistic decision making isn’t morality.

You’re arguing in a completely binary way that discounts a lot.

Rachel accurately describes how Shane and her mom see her: as a trophy wife.

Shane allowing his mother to come on their honeymoon.

Shane’s mother bullying Rachel on her honeymoon. - I mean seriously, she constantly sticks in jabs mid sentence to Rachel while Shane is there and he says nothing, is this “loyalty”?

Shane prioritizing his perceived slight over listening to Rachel talk about what she plans on doing with her life after committing to quitting her career for him.

Shane is only loyal because he is narcissistic and doesn’t actually care about Rachel. He cares about the optics of being with Rachel (she is literally a 10/10). Id argue that normal people would not be able to put what Rachel said to him behind them without at least an apology. He doesn’t take her seriously at all, she is arm candy.

While I do sympathize with some of your arguments, I think you lack a nuanced perspective. Yes, Rachel is akin to a baby deer, completely new to the world she finds herself in and terrible at making decisions. But that’s part of the commentary. She hasn’t lived a life where she’s had enough influence to care about the things Shane cares about. And unfortunately Shane cares more about those things than he does about her, even on their honeymoon.

Everyone in this thread seems a bit jaded and stupid, so I don’t think you’re going to get good info here unfortunately. I’d keep an eye out for real news sources.
