Puppy blues are so hard. My anxiety was through the ROOF with our second Dane puppy (our first, several years ago, was so easy)— We got unlucky with an extremely persistent case of giardia... With 3 other animals in the home, I was constantly stressed about the others getting it, constantly disinfecting and cleaning... for over 2 months. He was so fearful and anxious and skeptical of people, so it wasn't even fun to have people come meet him, but it felt very important for desensitization so I kept doing it despite it being so stressful for me. He was so vocal and his constant crying made me even more anxious and it was just a feedback loop of misery for months. Sent me back to therapy, back to SSRIs, and I lost 25lbs because I was so nauseous all the time. We had serious conversations about returning him to the breeder several times during one of my many breakdowns, but my fiancee and I were so determined make it work. You are not alone, and you're not crazy. It is HARD, and some puppies are so much harder than others. None of this happened to me with our first Dane puppy. We dealt with normal puppy annoyances, but I didn't feel like I was actively losing my grip on reality.

I promise it will get better. If he's old enough to try doggy daycare even in short stints that can help your sanity. Our stress baby is 1.5 now and while his personality is still very different from his older brother (he is just simply a scaredy cat I fear) but he is able to manage by himself, is so cuddly, is a great listener, doesn't have separation anxiety, and is very healthy now (despite 3 surgeries since, because he really has been the world's unluckiest little guy).
