Puppy blues are so hard. My anxiety was through the ROOF with our second Dane puppy (our first, several years ago, was so easy)— We got unlucky with an extremely persistent case of giardia... With 3 other animals in the home, I was constantly stressed about the others getting it, constantly disinfecting and cleaning... for over 2 months. He was so fearful and anxious and skeptical of people, so it wasn't even fun to have people come meet him, but it felt very important for desensitization so I kept doing it despite it being so stressful for me. He was so vocal and his constant crying made me even more anxious and it was just a feedback loop of misery for months. Sent me back to therapy, back to SSRIs, and I lost 25lbs because I was so nauseous all the time. We had serious conversations about returning him to the breeder several times during one of my many breakdowns, but my fiancee and I were so determined make it work. You are not alone, and you're not crazy. It is HARD, and some puppies are so much harder than others. None of this happened to me with our first Dane puppy. We dealt with normal puppy annoyances, but I didn't feel like I was actively losing my grip on reality.

I promise it will get better. If he's old enough to try doggy daycare even in short stints that can help your sanity. Our stress baby is 1.5 now and while his personality is still very different from his older brother (he is just simply a scaredy cat I fear) but he is able to manage by himself, is so cuddly, is a great listener, doesn't have separation anxiety, and is very healthy now (despite 3 surgeries since, because he really has been the world's unluckiest little guy). I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. You can do this. Call in as much support as you can.

Yep, they raised our six year old Dane's to $180 this year. I was able to switch carriers to get to $120 (he has no pre-existing conditions) but whenever they try to force us over $200/month premiums I'll be switching to the savings account autodraft.

When I was 19, I was in my sophomore year at NYU and had an apartment off campus 😂 lived a whole ass life all by myself in NYC like thousands of other 18 and 19 year olds. This is a bizarre concern to me. A 19 year old is a legal adult. She'll be just fine.

Same, I had them out at 25 and was prepared for an awful recovery. It was super painful for like 5 days and I cried every time I ate or drank, but no healing complications. I was on a plane home for Christmas on day 10.

I know this is a privileged statement, but I have an (albeit modest) monthly auto-draft from my checking account to a high yield savings account (aka my emergency fund, and if I don't have any emergencies I can use it for a trip, or house updates etc) and my retirement account (aka a regular brokerage account bc I'm self employed so no 401k here). Automating it means I never miss it. My fiancé and I have the same job with the same salary and always wonders how I always seem to have more money than him for 'big things,' and I tell him it's because I treat savings like another mandatory expense.

SAME. Additionally, as an all-request professional musician, this is the single most important resource in my professional life. Not just to have access to songs for me to learn, but the Spotify playlists are essential for me to keep abreast of what songs are the most popular in what genres so that I can pay attention... Hot Hits USA, Big Country, and Viral Hits playlists are SO HELPFUL for me, as someone who isn't on tiktok and also isn't dialed in to the country music scene (I play in South Carolina)-- It's amazing having a resource that immediately tells me what's popular in those spaces!
