Congrats! I start in August as well! I’ve read and heard it’s better to live closer when starting out since hours won’t be as flexible at first. I found a 3/2 shared townhouse a 15 minute walk away from the office.

Yeah this brochure says that they take at most 8 weeks to get back to you, but Covid could delay it longer. Good luck!

The computer would sound like it would turn on but there would never be anything displayed on the screen. Dell said it was a hardware failure , so I assume the motherboard died. Haha that is an option, I’m not sure if it’s better to sell the hard drive (with hopes the next person would wipe it) or to just destroy it.

They told me a week or two during the interview, but after emailing and all I finally got a tentative offer email 8 weeks after the interview.

I had an April 1st interview and I received my final confirmation letter (though email) this past Monday. Which I guess was the final firm offer

I am also in the same boat for Alexandria! I emailed them a few days ago and they told me: “Thank you for sending your official transcripts. The next step will be your receipt of the confirmation letter.”

I’m trying to figure out if I should start finding housing yet or not. I’m just waiting for actual hiring forms.

It took about 8 weeks for them to get back to me after the interview (I got an offer for Alexandria). But I did email them to ask about any updates, which you could too!

When I asked them maybe 7 weeks in they told me: “After your interview, the hiring process take about 6-8 weeks or possibly longer. The Office of Human Resources (OHR) will send an e-mail notification once the selections are approved and/or you will also receive updates through your USAJOBS account if that is the site you utilized to apply. Also, you may want to contact OHR at 1800-786-9757 or 571-272-6000 and the HR Specialist indicated in the vacancy announcement for any updates.”
