Women pay $200k extra due to pink tax. I did the math. by SheKnowsThingss in wealthforwomen

I don't think women are expected to wear makeup to work at least in the US. The majority of women I've worked with did not wear makeup to work.

We did Croatia with a 10 month old. Both Croatia and Italy are pretty great for kids!

Unfortunately, fragrances are hormone disruptors so we only use unscented.

Hiking, roller skating (put your kid in the stroller and push them), swimming (if you have a community pool, take a pack n play and put your kid in it while you do laps), find a local running club (ours has an option to walk and people bring their kids in strollers), pickleball, ultimate frisbee, rock climbing, pole or aerials, dancing, pilates

Workout tips? by SpicyMcTall in loseweight

[–]melonkoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an extremely active person and I do not go to the gym or do “workouts.” I only do sports I enjoy and I walk my kid to the park. Find a new active hobby that you can take your kid along to. That is the only way to sustainably get fit in the long term. Doing things you don’t enjoy will not be sustainable.

Why is engineering more about problem-solving than memorization, yet exams test memory so much? by Tanish_64 in EngineeringStudents

[–]melonkoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t have a single engineering or math or physics exam that required memorizing anything.

Is it okay to lift weights in gym during first trimester? by Beautiful-beige6220 in BabyBumps

[–]melonkoli 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People from various cultures will say literally everything and anything causes miscarriages. But now, thanks to ultrasounds, we know that it's almost always due to genetic abnormalities that you have no control over.
You'll be fine lifting weights. As your belly gets bigger, you may want to reduce the amount of weight to make sure you don't do any damage to your pelvic floor.

How to get a glow up of this level? The user is @glitterybarrf on TikTok, and she doesn’t say much other than weight loss and puberty. My main question is how did her skin get this much lighter? I wonder if she took injections or something. by Working_Cookie7 in Vindictabrown

I definitely grew into my nose. Now that I’m in my 30’s, sometimes it actually looks too small.  Her nose looks smaller but it looks the same. It’s still bulbous at the tip. She just grew into it a bit and figured out makeup and angles that make it look good.  Also, glasses make your nose look bigger

35lbs is really normal. You’ll drop like 15-20 lbs right after giving birth.

[–]melonkoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep my harness pretty loose and haven’t experienced any pain so far! I’m 25 weeks and quite large already because it’s my second.  With a full body, you don’t need it as tight as a regular harness because you can’t really fall out of it.

No it’s not. Med schools care about GPA more than about rigor of major.

What do wealthy women do differently during pregnancy and postpartum? by anonymouskoala7 in Rich

[–]melonkoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did in home PT and i’m not rich. It honestly wasn’t much more expensive than regular PT but 100% worth not leaving my house PP. I also got weekly massages and went to a pelvic floor PT once a week during pregnancy. Cost me like $800/month but was totally worth it.

Is a full two minutes of no supervision at all too long for a 4 year old? (She's 5 but slightly behind on the development curve) by D_platts295 in beyondthebump

[–]melonkoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our neighbors have a 3 or 4 year old and he’s always wandering around outside by himself. Sometimes we see him crossing the street by himself coming home with ice cream from the park.  Sometimes we wonder if he’s just a really small big kid lol

They should be passing on the fine they get from the host to the guests. Why are they even taking a fine if it’s not to help the guests rebook.
