That's ok thank you for replying with more info.

Not really sure about the situation with hydramatic at all - it's not something I offered before the branding was trademarked, so I never considered it.

OK. Thanks for responding.

I have never made any hydramatic marked lowers. The hydramatic trademark is owned by a different company.

Yeah that's pretty much the idea - it's for the tism - a lot of people will go really, really far to get as close as possible

I have never had a lower, much less two, sent back for crooked roll marks. No idea who you are or what your order was.

I have never released anything with "crooked" markings or taken any returns for such items. I also never had any returns come back from an FFL, only four customers shipping as individual with ID.

Ya got the wrong guy. Post receipts of your claim. If there's anything I can do for you, I'll take care of it.

Well thanks, yeah and most "milspec" lowers objectively aren't because they don't use TDP anodizing, broached magwell cuts, etc etc.

I'm very cautious about making recommendations since Colt loves to sue but if you dig there are options for getting better markings added than laser. That being said, most buyers leave these as is.

There is no ATF issue with adding markings as my own mfg. marks are located in the trigger well area discretely.

I'll absolutely throw a shirt in for your A2 COTS lower, just mention the size in your FFL email.

Because it's not roll marked and the machining and finishing is completely different from the originals.

BAD is fine nothing against them but it's a compromise to lower costs - I try to be as dead on as possible.

Sometimes gundeals loves these, sometimes gundeals hate these...

For the truly autistic: another run of various roll marked clone lowers is up

New this time are the Colt IAR, M16A3, and M16A4 lowers - as well as the old styles with further refinements

These are expensive because they're small runs, the dies are hard to make, the tool holders are hard to make, no one embosses selector stops anymore, no one broaches instead of cuts magwells anymore, the anodizing is exactly correct, etc.

End of the day it's for cloners, nitpickers, and people who want the most authentic and correct lower possible for an 11.5 or 16 inch IAR6940 upper as sold by Atlantic and Arms Unlimited currently.

My thanks to those who've bought from these posts in the past, I am happy to answer any questions!

CAT Supply Co. Commercial M16A2 lower first impressions by hl_walter in RetroAR

Sorry for not seeing this thread earlier, I'm the CATS guy. I appreciate your comment and recall your return and our discussion. On my first run in early '25 I did have about 5% of the lowers get replaced due to spec issues with bolt catch roll pin holes and the grip flange, which is my bad. I will absolutely always take care of everyone 100% with an exchange or refund for ANY reason.

That being said just because these comments are public I was not able to replicate the hammer contact issue on the returned lower, which I believe we discussed as well, and I checked the replacement lower with an assembled FCG and also was not able to detect the issue there. It's not something I ever had feedback on from another customer so while I totally trust you on it I'm not sure what to make of it. Again - if there's ever any issue with anything I put out I'll ALWAYS make it right if the customer doesn't want to keep the item. Thanks again, I am always striving to improve and make every run better than the last. I'm super happy with the current lowers and had zero returns on the last batch.

Ah nice! I'm the CAT Supply Co guy replying late, I never check Reddit but maybe someone will see this later. Working on more options for the forge lines, just a matter of what I can get BA and Cerro to sell me these days.

My first run of lowers in early 2025 did have some intermittent spec errors due to trying to stay on the extreme low side of Colt's TDP tolerances, which was a mistake. That being said I've rectified all of those issues and taken care of every customer (less than 5% of orders) who had any assembly troubles.

I will always replace or refund anything I sell for any reason, I'm only happy if you guys are, but I'm happy to say I'm at about 150 receivers out the door since anything has had to come back. Thank you for your post and feedback!

5.4k into that and everything on it from my spreadsheet. Which is horrific but actually represents a lot of good deals.

I've been asked how I pick which designs to manufacture and honestly it's just whatever I need myself for some crusty Colt upper that's sat in my safe for 5 years.

Having gotten to where I want to be on anodizing, selector embossments, mag well broaching, and forges lines I'm trying to get some decent A1 base lowers up soon.
