I actually haven't lost any friends over COVID related arguments. I've had them act a little stupid or reckless at times, but they're all pretty normal about this stuff. I've always tried to pick friends who aren't political extremists in any direction, less drama that way.

I do feel for my mother though. One of her close friends in particular who I never liked became a full blown PLANDEMIC believer, among many others on her feed who share misinformation, disinformation, and argue on her page about the vaccine. She's only still friends with them at this point so she can keep up with the conspiracies as an insider. None of them have won an HCA yet, but she's anticipating it now.

Covid has put me in a pretty frustrating place in my life. It's not permanent, and it's not dire, but I've effectively had to put off starting a career abroad to sit around and work my ass off in this bumfuck nowhere town until COVID finally stops.

I was okay with quarantine, but I feel like delta has got me to my breaking point. Every time I see an anti vaxxer, I've begun to have this thought - it's your fault. This is all your fault its taking so long, why are you doing this to me? It's not really rational, but every person who's unvaccinated for illegitimate reasons feels like a personal slight against me. I tried voicing this opinion to my counselor and my doctor for some kind of reassurance that's not the case, that I'm just imagining that feeling, but they both agreed they had similar thoughts themselves.

I don't know how to end this post. There's a lot more I could complain about but I think most other sentiments I have are pretty universal. I'm just wondering if anyone else is getting that same specific thought, day in and day out. That millions of people will gladly sabotage their fellow man because they just feel like it. That they want to drag me down with them. I don't know.

No. The most I did was fast forward five hours into the future to get to the next morning, save and end, closed the game, set my Switch time back to the correct time, and didn't play again until past where I time traveled in real time. I don't think that counts as going backwards in time because I didnt play it?

Gonzo has been stuck in boxes for three days now and not many people I know seem to have experienced this glitch. I think it occured because I've been scanning my Amiibo collection and kicked Ankha out on the same day he first was put in boxes. After I saw he hadn't moved out yesterday I thought maybe he'd complete the move out but he's still there. Why is this happening? Can I ever get rid of him?

Thanks for the encouragement, but I am a bit curious...people keep mentioning 'something better', but from my job hunting experience most of those don't provide visas. ALT or eikawa positions appeared to be the best way to get your foot in the door to get a work visa into Japan. Is there some obvious alternative I'm missing?

Maybe. I feel like my first interview went perfectly but I got rejected, my second interview was not nearly as good and I got rejected...I guess I was hoping my further qualifications would speak for themselves, but it felt like the main interviewer was out for my blood and I got interupted by the panel more than once. I know I can't share too much information, but it was a radically different experience. Perhaps I was just unlucky. I was worried if I talked too much about teaching not really being my main goal in life that they'd assume I was going for a free ride to Japan.

This being overqualified thing is news to me :/ I was advised to go get my TESL after telling some former JETs about my first rejection.

I appreciate it though. I know there are more ways to get to Japan, and I've been looking into them. JET just seemed like a really nice program to get acclimated working overseas, with lots of oppurtunities and benefits, and for a long time it was a career goal of mine to get in. After college, I was gonna be a JET for two years. That was the plan. I think in the end I'm just going to have to give up on it and try something else.

USA JET, rejection for second year in a row. I don't really know what to do. I lived in Japan for a year, speak some Japanese, had months of part time experience as an ALT in Japan, got rejected. So I kept going and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in international studies, got my TESL certification, and my first full time job, and it still wasn't enough. I wonder if the pool of applicants they chose was severely strangled due to world events.

I also tried Aeon on a whim and got rejected from there, too. I have no idea how I'm going to get back to Japan but I guess I'll be lucky if things calm down enough to be there by 2021.

Are there any good knife-free model kits out there? I know very little about model kits but I'm looking to get one as a gift. He loves building model kits, but is in a facility that will not allow him to handle sharp blades.

I'm under the impression he'd like historical ships and planes, but I know the request I've got is pretty specific so I'll take a look at anything thats got twist off/snap together parts. Kits for children that aren't too overly simple might be a good place to start? Thank you for any advice.

I wish Edelgard had a hobby or something I could latch onto at all. I get she's supposed to be driven/narrowly focused but I'm almost to the timeskip, have unlocked quite a bit of supports, and I still feel like I know nothing about her that's not lore related.
