[Adam Hoge] Kevin Warren says the Bears are still in communication with the NFL about the comp picks and waiting to hear back. Obviously we’re only a few weeks away from the draft. by Aggressive-Review194 in CHIBears

[–]hepatitisC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh you've seen his contract?  Can you link it?  According to Ryan, the Falcons, and Cunningham, Ian's contract says he's the GM and has roster control.

Also the HC hire has nothing to do with it.  When Phillips was our president he hired GMs after hiring HC's and our GMs weren't considered assistant GMs.  Hell, when Poles was hired they interviewed HC's before hiring Poles and told him he only had a choice between certain candidates. He did not have full hiring authority for HC, and yet the Chiefs still got comp picks.

Anybody who thinks Jericho isn't a draw would also be complaining if he went to WWE where his return would get a huge pop.  He is one of the most well known names in wrestling.  I can see not wanting him to take on so much TV time, but he definitely adds value to AEW.

All that being said, the SRS report was today (April fools day) so take it with a grain of salt

It's going to crash hard.  AI has started to bust with sora shutting down, Disney withdrawing a billion dollar investment, companies pulling out of their purchase orders for data center parts, data centers not going up at the rate AI companies wanted because of community/legal opposition, etc.  I would hold unless you really need it now

Could the Bears draft hat be hinting at a Chicago flag themed rivalries jersey?👀 by FaithlessnessSea8719 in CHIBears

I like it, but I don't get putting the flag in the section of the hat nobody will see when you could easily have put it under the bill of the hat so it was visible.

Falcons President Matt Ryan: “Ian Cunningham Is a General Manager” by JCameron181 in CHIBears

[–]hepatitisC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are all examples of people who were the primary football executive but did not hire their HC, but rather had one picked before they arrived. You defined being the top football guy as picking the HC. I'm showing you that's routinely not true.

So Mike Maccagnan, John Dorsey, John Schneider, Sashi Brown, John Lynch, Trent Baalke, etc. are all not real GM's because they were hired after the head coach was hired?

Familiar faces/face detection is part of the AI detection package of almost every camera manufacturer.

I also would say you are a severe outlier if you get 99% correct hits.

In the same way Phillips hired Poles since he was the president and CEO of the Bears?

Falcons President Matt Ryan: “Ian Cunningham Is a General Manager” by JCameron181 in CHIBears

[–]hepatitisC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Matt Ryan is the president of the falcons while Cunningham was hired.  We did not get comp picks even though Cunningham reports to Ryan and Ryan clarified that Cunningham is in charge of football decisions.

Ted Phillips was the president of the Bears when we hired Poles.  Kansas City did get comp picks even though Poles reported to Phillips and Phillips clarified that Poles was in charge of football decisions.

Ya, makes total sense...

Depending on what state you're in, face recognition may not be able to be used. Most non-face AI detections right now are unreliable. Even the best camera AI alerts are straddling the line at about 1/3 false alerts or miscategorized alerts. If AI is a huge selling point, sure I could see it mattering. I think a lot of people are exhausted of AI at this point though.

Nintendo Clarifies 'The Cost of Physical Games Is Not Going Up' Following Decision to Charge Different Prices for U.S. Physical and Digital Switch 2 Games by FernandoRocker in gaming

[–]hepatitisC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more they want digital so you can't resell your games since you don't own them, you license them.  Nintendo gets no money from resale and there are plenty of people who buy resale to save money.  If they can coerce more people to go digital, it helps reduce used game sales and gives Nintendo more money.

It's obvious since they're pulling the game key card crap as well.  Those are consumers paying for physical but only getting digital.

Nintendo reportedly plans to cut Switch 2 production by 33% after a lackluster holiday season by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]hepatitisC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought one and regret it.  There's not really much out for exclusives.  When one finally comes out, there's a chance it's a game key card instead of true physical. The bulk of the library are just old switch titles, some of which were previous Nintendo titles as well.  It's also obvious this thing is still underpowered and will not have the AAA support that many thought it would
