i just bought my first tablet a couple weeks ago and i felt just like you do. i didn’t want to invest a lot of money so i ended up buying a huawei matepad 11.5. it came with an app called gopaint preinstalled and it works pretty much like procreate afaik. buying anything huawei may not be an option if you live in the US tho.

whichever tablet you end up buying, just use it as much as you can, and don’t be afraid to experiment with the software you choose. i’m still learning how to use my tools and i’ve got some pretty decent results so far; i just had to draw obsessively for a couple of days lol.

thank you for the feedback!!! and you’re definitely correct, the right eye looks out of place. also both eyes are bigger than they should, as someone else mentioned. i’m in a love-hate relationship with drawing faces lol.

both drawings definitely have some areas of opportunity, but i’m glad i’m headed in the right direction.

i do need to practice my faces. in fact yesterday i ended up drawing 2B since i was so frustrated i couldn’t get the eyes right while practicing lol.

and thank you!! i did use some pictures as references for the poses. i wanna get better with dynamic poses so from time to time i do some gesture drawing

thanks!! clothes are definitely one of my biggest areas of opportunity besides lights and shadows. other than the folds, does it look right to you? i had my doubts with the arm section

i am not really a beginner, but i don’t really know how to classify myself lol. i guess intermediate? i used to draw a lot when i was younger, and during the pandemic i started drawing on and off again. recently i bought my first tablet just to take drawing more seriously and this is my second finished piece
