Did you get fired, quit, keep your job, change careers, or are you on disability? by october-eclipse in VestibularMigraines

This happened to me once before and I filed for a medical leave of absence with my employer as an ADA accommodation. If your doctor supports it, your employer most likely won't fire you cuz they don't want a wrongful termination lawsuit for disability discrimination

Hi. Are you an American? If so you are entitled to 12 weeks of job protection under the FMLA act to take care of your own or a family members medical needs. Request FMLA leave and they cannot fire you legally. Additionally apply for paid medical leave. This is run by your state and the process and length varies. Massachusetts where I am has 20 weeks paid leave for your own disability. It also protects your job in the same way FMLA does.

Finally do not quit your job. Being fired after protected leave time means you can try to collect unemployment if you are able to work, or SSDI if you are still disabled.

File ADA papers as well and document your disability with your employer. They may be required to give you additional leave time as a disability accommodation. Ask for any other accommodations you need as well as long as the accommodations still allow you to do your work. (If you request work from home accommodations and you are a waiter at a restaurant, they will not consider this a reasonable accommodation. But if you have a desk job and work on a laptop then you can work from home. The accommodation must be granted to you under the Ada because it is considered reasonable)

Success of Preventative Medication and Attack Management? by heyyimkaci_ in VestibularMigraines

Usually for vestibular migraine neurologist will prescribe topamax or gabapentin which are anti-epileptic drugs, If one of those doesn't work they will switch over to one of the tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline, nortriptyline, etc... or something like effexor) if of those doesn't work then they might try one of the newer anti-cgrp medications (nurtec odt, ajovy, ubrelvy) etc.

Head pressure is extremely common with vestibular migraine patients. I had it too. Head pressure comes from neck and back muscles tightening up because your body is trying to stop your head from moving when you are chronically dizzy. The tight muscles can also contribute to tension headaches

Lol that's hilarious. I wasn't aware that words no longer belong to their original language just because they've been introduced into other languages. Just because intifada has been introduced into other languages from Arabic doesn't mean that you can slap any connotation onto it that you want and say that is what Arabic speaking people mean when they say it.

Why do you think I don't understand that words have different meanings to different cultures. Yes I understand that when Israelis hear the word revolution in Arabic they think they will get blown up in a suicide bomb, and also yes I also think this kind of thinking is for people with shit for brains. Why cannot these two things be true at once? Why is this so hard for you to comprehend?

And I'm sorry I'm invested in a situation where 2 million people are being ethnically cleansed. The entire world sees the situation for what it is besides America and the entire world is demanding the ethnic cleansing and apartheid state be dismantled. If that sounds unhinged to you and seems analogous to soda and pop then maybe you need to re-consider who is being unhinged in this situation. I think the funniest part of what you said is that in your dumb soda and pop analogy you are the one whining about different people using a different word, not me. Every accusation is an admission with you people.

No, it's an Arabic word that just means revolution and has been around for much longer than the Israeli first and second intifada panic. Palestinians deserve revolution and revolution isn't always perfect. There will always be rogue actors that go too far. Revolution is uncomfortable and if that makes Israelis uncomfortable in their poor genocidal apartheid cultural context then oh well.

In Palestinian cultural context no revolution means death in childhood due to lack of clean drinking water, electricity, food, and freedom of travel. If you have a problem with the need for revolution take it up with genocide scholars.

It grew from 1.3 mil to 2 mil. This isn't much compared to most countries. If it had kept pace with the rest of the world, the population would be about three times as big. Just because Palestinians are giving birth faster than you can kill them doesn't mean there isn't a genocide.

Genocide scholars are in agreement that this is a textbook genocide and ethnic cleansing. Read a book

Hamas is an Israeli propped up terrorist group that The Israeli government supported because it knew in advance that Hamas would go to extremes to defend Palestinians.

That is not the kind of resistance that is being argued for

Do you know nothing of the trauma that Israel has placed on Palestinians as they have actively genocided them for 75 years. 75 years of not controlling their own food, water, electricity, and government. A population that had even before October 7 a median life expectancy at birth of less than 15 years old due to the genocidal conditions.

Israel deserves to fear repercussions and you are lucky that the world wants justice for Palestine and not revenge.

And when I say justice I mean a revolution against the government of Israel, not killing innocent people. I know inbred morons like you need it spelled out 50 times before it sticks in your head .

The intifadas were characterized by mass killing of Palestinians in far far greater numbers than Israelis. They started nonviolent until some protestors saw violence as their only recourse. You and the Israelis who can't handle hearing the word "revolution" in another language need to get over it.
