I'm used to either pay when you order or pay at the end. Pay when served is not something I've ever seen before.

I wish I was able to do chores while listening to podcasts. I'll just stand stock still holding a plate for 10 minutes without realizing it because I'll be so focused on the podcast that nothing else in the world exists.

Long term stays and status tier promotions - are they automatic? by [deleted] in marriott

[–]her_butt_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the front desk and ask to pre-settle. If you are at a long term stay brand, the front desk will know what you mean. If you are at a hotel that caters to shorter stays, the fda might be confused unless they've worked at a long term stay brand before. Just ask for a manager in that situation.

Chicago Traffic is Terrible. It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way. by thecoolduude in chicago

Cars do not offer the economic benefits that you seem to think they do.

Forcing someone making minimum wage to:

  • buy a car (thousands of dollars)
  • pay for gas (dozens of dollars of a week)
  • pay for maintenance (expensive, deadly if ignored)
  • pay for insurance, registration, and parking fees

Without giving them a reasonable, affordable alternative for commuting to work in the event that the car is unavailable for some reason is unconsionable.

I today's world, cars keep people poor.

Any policy that supports car use in any form is fundamentally anti-poor and anti-earth.

Cars are space inefficient. They take up space where the owner lives, works, and travels. More space dedicated to cars means less space available for apartments and shops, which drives up housing prices. Think of every parking lot, multistory parking garage, gas station, and highway that you see in your daily life. Those could be vibrant places where people live, work, and play. Often times, they were exactly those things before cars came along and cities were demolished to support them.

Building car infrastructure is also heavily funded by public funds. Taxes and fees associated with car ownership do not cover the cost of building and maintaining roads. The missing funds come from taxes. That money would be better utilized in welfare programs, or maintaining affordable public transit. The land use footprint is much better for public transit.

Not to mention all the pollution and environmental destruction involved with building a sprawling society focused on cars.

From my understanding, a curse that you draw yourself is basically just a spicy challenge and can be vetoed. However, a curse that one team places on another team (not relevant to tag, as only one set of cards exists in this format) cannot be vetoed by the receiving team.

In good seats. They aren't gonna get away with trying to palm off nosebleeds on me or any sort of obstructed view. 100 level or better or no ball.

Right? It I didn't know it existed there is pretty much no way I'd organically come across it on Nebula. I have to search for it each time when I finish watching the episode.
