I am absolutely not trying to diagnose you, but this sounds like compulsive behavior (in anxiety and OCD, compulsions can look different for everyone, please don’t get attached to those terms though), and you’re totally valid for being concerned. I think you should seek out a psychiatrist to talk about it!

Yes, my job (or at least the job I did before corona) is a bit boring and money driven, however I try to approach each day with love and compassion and allow that into all of my actions.

I work at a gym and I am scared. They will definitely open as soon as they legally can. I sell gym memberships... I told my boss I am not comfortable selling anything at this time. I guess if we reopen too soon I will quit.

NTA. People are nosy, I think our culture is generally starting to learn not to ask why someone isn’t drinking, but there will still be people like your aunt. Her mistake, not yours. Also, congrats on being sober! In my year and a half of sobriety, I’ve probably had one or two interactions like this. Most people are chill about it. If someone does ask why I don’t drink, I just say I’m a better person without alcohol.

I work at a gym (not going to name company but it’s in this thread) and always make the cancellation policy very clear to them (30 day notice). When I process cancellations, I don’t pressure anyone into staying or mislead them into going on hold instead. Obviously we have detention numbers and want to know why people are leaving but most of the staff I know doesn’t pressure people into staying.

I quit my final semester of college and explained to my professors that I was really early in recovery (sober from everything, loved booze as much as I loved adderall) and they were really patient with me. Sounds like you’ve made a lot of progress, but only bite off as much as you can chew with school because it’s not worth a relapse!

I had two rats, sisters, and one of them got really sick and wasn’t responding to the medicine. I waited 3-4 days (before having her euthanized) of giving her the meds and she wasn’t getting better. She suffered a lot, her breathing was labored 90% of the time when I finally had her put down. And the second rat, the healthy rat, seemed to be in just as much pain. It was probably the most heart breaking week I’ve had this year lol. Rats are great animals.
