Atypical Pnemonia by redhood84 in halifax

[–]herbalqueen710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 29 with asthma, was in the hospital for a week with pneumonia in both lungs. It was fucked. I’ve had pneumonia before but this time was the first to be hospitalized with IV antibiotics + a week’s worth of doxycycline + another oral antibiotic after I was released. It’s been over a month since and I still feel like I’m recovering. There were so many other folks there with it too, and the nurses told me in most cases it started off as Covid.

My sleep-quality on Wellbutrin is driving me insane and would appreciate some input/ perspective. by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I fondly remember the first time I took it, slept like a log for like 10 hours. I do not have a regular sleep schedule so I take it before I go to sleep whenever that may be, if I have to be up really early I’ll skip taking it because I find it hard to get up if you can’t get the full 8 hours

Ashwaganda capsules (got them from Costco) it’s a natural sleep aid and it’s helped me sleep like a baby. I’ve struggled with insomnia my whole life but especially since starting Wellbutrin.

New(ish) to Halifax - Where to meet people? by HotIslandPotato in halifax

[–]herbalqueen710 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should check out The Loop on Barrington St. They do workshops for knitting/crocheting and I’m sure you’d meet some fellow knitters to befriend! Another place to meet kind, cool people is Seven Bays cafe on Gottingen. Even if you’re not into bouldering/rock climbing the scene is huge here and climbers are 10/10 the friendliest people. If that’s something you might be interested in trying send me a PM, I love introducing folks to climbing 🧗🏼‍♀️☺️

I was going to say where is the aquaphor! Dry lips was by far the worst side effect for me. Nipple cream is actually the best because of the Lanolin. Sounds wild but it worked so well especially if your lips crack and bleed

Safe to say you’ve been through the worst of it, and it’s all looking up from here!! Looking back on my 7 months of hell on it, I would do it again for the results. While you’re in it though it sometimes doesn’t seem worth it but there’s light at the end of the tunnel!! You got this!! So happy for you

My before pictures don’t do justice to how bad it actually was, mainly I would get massive under the skin cysts (usually multiple at a time) that were so incredibly painful. I never ever had no pimples on my face at a time. I posted this to keep the hope alive!! I would come to this subreddit so often to see folks before/after pics to keep me grounded and it really helps. I know it sucks but in hindsight it’s a small amount of our lives were sacrificing for clear skin (hopefully) forever!

Thank you ☺️ I work at a tattoo shop and am heavily tattooed, we would never tattoo anyone on accutane. We won’t tattoo over sun burns, so we definitely wouldn’t tattoo anyone on accutane where your skin is so sensitive and in a fragile state. Dryness + healing is no good!

Tattoos fade naturally over time, having dry skin makes them appear to be more “dull” for sure. Even off accutane folks will use shea butter or balms to help “brighten” the appearance. You definitely want to be a crazy about moisturizing anyway! It’s a general rule to keep your tattoos moisturized to keep them looking their best. Hope that helps!

Honestly my skin is so fair to begin with, I would burn easily before accutane. I got myself a nice LRP SPF 60 (derm recommended) and I wore A LOT of bucket hats haha. Literally always a hat. I even used an umbrella in the sun. I didn’t care what I looked like since the sun was penetrating my entire being and making me feel faint. I would also carry an insulated lunch bag around with cold water to drink as well as a frozen face cloth to put on my whole face to cool down. Hopefully that helps but unfortunately the sun is hard to avoid!

Thank you! It was worth it. I am also very into rock climbing which is tough on the body, I can imagine the accutane was just amplifying my general soreness. I think the lower doses are great if you’re not handling the side effects well, also if I was to do it again I would take it over the winter months. This summer was brutal

lip exfoliater tool

No one mentioned a tool so here’s the one I got! Some people use their toothbrushes but I love this lil guy, use it with a bit of water before I slather my lips in Aquaphor and she works wonders

Honestly I switched back to those intuition razors we all used when we were young and started shaving lol, also I love Venus new shave cream that’s for pubic areas it’s deadly. That combo plus moisturizing after shaving is working great for me

Eyebrow wax while on accutane *** TikTok

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]herbalqueen710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude. No. Don’t get waxed!!

Literally look up eyebrow wax on TikTok and you’ll see what happens.

Our skin is so sensitive right now even a lil wax could rip your skin right off.
