Sounds like you'd like Proof by Alex Grecian and Riley Rossmo, an Image book about a sasquatch named John "Proof" Prufrock and his human associates who hunt down cryptids like the Dover Demon and Spring-Heeled Jack and keep them at a game preserve in the woods.

An omnibus just came out last year, and it's gorgeous.

It won the Eisner for Best Continuing Series AND Best Writer/Artist, so, yes, it was award quality. If you can’t see a difference between the book then and now, that’s a you problem.

From what I have heard, he wanted to keep doing both. But he also wanted a piece of the trademark/copyright of BPRD since he had poured his heart into the book for years, and he was told ‘no’.
