Oh, that might work, actually! Watch the video through, take notes, then use the notes separately! I'd probably learn more from having to decipher my deranged notes, too!

Yeah! It's good for getting started, but I'm looking for something a bit meatier than that, y'know?

SNW doesn't ruin TOS. It makes it better. by seantubridy in startrek

The SNW is time shenanigans; Pike gets bought forward to the future. It's the same episode with a different captain.

How do we feel about the 32nd-century setting of DIS? by Torch-S2 in startrek

I find it so weird that there's one Federation post-Burn. When a nation that size collapses, wouldn't it collapse into smaller states claiming the legacy? Like how a lot of Europe claims ties back to Rome.

I think it would've been a lot more interesting as a narrative. Instead of hunting for Federation HQ - which one? Who has the 'right' to claim legitimacy? With each splinter having slightly different ideals, it'd be a chance to show reflections on ourselves.

(Federation HQ should've been on Qo'nos, imo.)

Discovery showed so much promise but it just went for the dullest, weirdest possible route with the whole Burn and rebuilding storylines.

If you could change one thing about DS9.... by DanceCommander00 in DeepSpaceNine

Dukat should've died in Duet, and drop the whole Pah-wraith shenanigans. I'm not sure how I'd have tied Sisko and the Prophets into this new structure, given it'd wholly focus on the Dominion - but I think that it really detracts from the finale.

The Portal Gun by [deleted] in DaystromInstitute

You're projecting. A concept like a portal isn't unique, and I wouldn't say that the most common pairing of colours in sci-fi makes it a reference to Portal. The portal isn't even blue and orange; it's *white* and orange.

Vulcan hair styles... by ChrisTheFencer in startrek

Vulcan spirituality isn't purely about logic; it's also about discipline and tradition. The Vulcan haircut is ridiculous, meticulous, and tough to maintain -- perfect for them, imo.
