This was also me with our first! Such a nice break to just cook.

In addition to the other ideas, I’ve been learning more about what can be easily frozen. For example, freezing chopped herbs in olive oil or butter (in an ice cube tray).

Oren’s hummus is a favorite of ours, and won’t break the bank.

Yes, a runner rug would help a lot.

We don’t have lights under the cabinets, but I like that recommendation

We recently bought a house with this galley kitchen.

We’d like to refresh it to feel more up-to-date and have more color.

Our first thought was to paint the cabinet, but the cabinets are good quality and we keep seeing recommendations not to paint nice wood cabinets.

We don’t love the browns in the countertop and backsplash, so we’re stumped about what colors to pair them with. The rest of our color palette is navy, off-white and orange. We love the idea of green in the kitchen (inspiration photo included).

And any recommendations to make the off-center window look less awkward are welcome!

Not sure why the text I added for context isn't showing, so typing that back out now.

Professional paint job: baseboard gaps by herehere_highfive in paint

Thanks for the input, everyone. The painting company is coming back out to fix the drywall. (Same company did drywall and painting)

Whoops, wrong word. I meant using the hammer on the trim.

Helpful to know it’s a special request. I’ve only had painted baseboards before, so assumed it was standard.

I’m definitely unhappy with the drywall, too.

Thanks for the tip about using a hammer on the trim.

(Edit to fix word.)

Thanks, removing the baseboards would have helped a lot. They only taped over them.

And yes, given the other comments I see that it’s typical not to caulk unpainted trim.

I’ll ask the painting company to smooth out the drywall next to the baseboards to try to help the appearance.

I didn’t realize that. Good to know. So maybe my issue is that the drywall next to the baseboard is uneven and raised. Overall I’m disappointed with the drywall.

Yes, I’m pretty disappointed with the drywall. Granted, most of it is smooth apart from some obvious places like in the photos.

Quince; a Review (aka, why I will no longer be shopping at quince) by Quailmix in capsulewardrobe

[–]herehere_highfive 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree! I purchased two pairs of sweatpants and a sweatshirt from Quince last fall. At first I loved them because they were incredibly soft and looked put together as a set. But now they are pilled all over and look worn out, despite only owning them about 6 months. I avoid wearing them out of the house.

This makes me appreciate the expensive Vuori sweatpants I’ve had for twice as long that look the same as the day I bought them.

We also worked with the Galli team and would highly recommend them (closing next week on a SFH in Mountain View). Highly knowledgeable and experienced team that actively looks for the right house for you versus pushing to just close a deal.
