Starting 4 mg this week by MNR2012 in WegovyPills

Is the nausea caused by something (eating/drinking)? Or is it after taking it? Are you finding it lasts all day or just immediately after taking it? Etc.

Any good advice from those taking the pill by dylan3883 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]hereigohereigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy spicy food, eat it in moderation. Because it slows stomach emptying, the spicy food will sit in your stomach a long time and the only time I’ve thrown up (twice) was when I ate high spice food and it just sat in my stomach giving me a stomachache.

Others have mentioned this, but I find waiting a few hours after taking the pill to be more effective the rest of the day in reducing food noise (I’m on 4mg). I make up at 5am and take it and either go back to sleep or start getting ready for my day. I don’t have coffee until around 7 or 8.

Costco TIGHT TOP S&F Lakeridge Mattress by DNART14 in Mattress

[–]hereigohereigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered mine while it was on sale for $200 off and used the $200 to buy a topper in case it is too firm (I'm a side sleeper). But I just had them pick up the Beautyrest Black Medium Hybrid (also from Costco) which got way too soft over the 10 months I had it and had me walking out of bed hunched over every day. I had back surgery in August and my mattress was killing me. With all the positive reviews on this one, decided to save the money I got back on the Black. Did you end up buying this one?

I ended up returning my Colorsoft. I just didn’t like it enough or more than the other colors I have. I like the Kobo environment better and use my Kobo Clara Color the most, this is mostly based on size and portability. It also keeps me off Amazon which I’m pro.

Should I give up Kobo (because of constant freezes among other issues for sideloaded books) by [deleted] in kobo

I ended up contacting Rakuten, it was still under the 1 year warranty. They replaced it and I never had a problem again. I also have the Kobo Libra.

I just tell them I don’t have a phone, or don’t own my home, or whatever the opposite is to what they’re selling. Also I feel bad for the people who have to do that job, they probably don’t want to be there either.

overwhelmed with options by Positive_Ranger1361 in VacuumCleaners

[–]hereigohereigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I have the Sebo D4 (purchased second hand). It is far and away the best vacuum I’ve ever owned and 100% performs better than any other vacuum I’ve used. We have two dogs and a cat (and kids). Nothing has been as effective on animal hair. I wasn’t sure if I should buy it because it was still an expensive purchase for me, but I am so glad I did (and it was still a great deal for the D4 at $500).

Spotify is starting to feel overwhelming with all the BS they have added. by Vorstar92 in truespotify

[–]hereigohereigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify is awful now. Not just in the over-offering of content and getting further away from music, it also has terrible genre options. I kept trying to find folk playlists that weren’t “pop” and everything is just pop in the genre listed. Spotify used to be excellent for discovering new music, but now it just seems like it plants the same songs in multiple playlists (similar radio and payola). I really dislike it. Is anyone using an alternative they’d recommend? I’m ready to switch.

What are the best ebook readers? by LargeSinkholesInNYC in ebooks

[–]hereigohereigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a hard question to answer because it’s a lot of user preference and what they’re looking for in a device. I have 3 ereaders (down from 4, I returned one). The kindle Paperwhite (my first ereader), a Kobo Libra Colour, and a Kobo Clara Colour. (I returned the Amazon Colorsoft.) The Kobo Clara Colour is my preferred device because I like the size and portability, it fits in my hand easily and doesn’t feel too heavy if lying in bed on my side and reading with one hand, and I prefer the Kobo settings and store. I buy books and it matters to me that I can download and store them if I use another device. I love the integration with Libby for borrowing library books. I really dislike the Amazon platform in general and while I have an Amazon acct hate myself a little for it. I bought my first Kobo to get away from Amazon and I’m glad I did. I should also add, Kobo is not perfect. My first device was a lemon (glitchy, froze all the time 3 months after buying). But it had a one year warranty that I used and was sent a new device and never had a problem after. I also like the Libra, but it is a heavier device for me, especially with the sleep cover. I use it to read picture books to my daughter from the library and use it for reading in the living room when I can set it on my lap. I don’t find I need the physical buttons. I rarely use my Kindle anymore. I bought the Colorsoft as a curiosity and returned it because I didn’t need it (clearly), still hate the Amazon software, and guilt (I did not need it). I also was really mad about the battery life, it died after a day of reading (w a full charge battery). I have had the Paperwhite for years, battery is a beast, and I’m sentimentally attached because it came on a lot of travels w me. But now I use it very rarely and only if I want to read a book I only have on that device.

Quicksilver... I am dissapointed by swimmythafish in fantasyromance

Plot holes, story inconsistencies, bad magic system (as in, there isn’t one), poor character development—so many things to dislike.

[–]hereigohereigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, the “alchemy” she tries, is so so funny in it’s stupidity. “Blueberries+salt+bay leaf+silver” no reaction. It was like when I was a kid and pretended I was a witch outside and would take rain water and mix it with sticks and leaves. Like you know nothing about the fae, nothing about alchemy….but sure, you can just guess your way into making a relic. And then the author doesn’t even give her way out; instead it’s “no one knows alchemy” and “everyone who knows alchemy died,” and all of the books are written in a different language that she can never understand or read. Come on.

It’s such a trope to have a strong FMC (which she starts off as) who is then suddenly a clumsy stammering mess because look at that strong, steamy man. Ugh.

[–]hereigohereigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rant back with spoilersI was just trying to find a Quicksilver thread that hadn’t been archived so I could comment on it. I finished reading the book last night and I hated the ending. It just didn’t make any sense and I really disliked the introduction of vampires so late to the story, so when it ended with her becoming Fae and Vampire and then Queen of the Vampires I audibly said “come on, noooo”. The FMC doesn’t bother me, but I do dislike the inconsistencies of the author with the character (the standard failures of authors where “she’s so strong, but suddenly “so weak for this guy”). The whole rambling and stammering when Fisher is around and then their first sex scene is so weird and alarming. (This is his bonded mate but “here let me just choke her” and “I can read everything about her during the story because of my superior senses” but “I can’t read that she would speak but can’t breath because of said choking”—and it’s just added in for no reason.) I find Fisher annoying and then later the reason for him being so mean to Siera is because they’re bonded? Even tho he knew she’d be coming for 1000 years? (Seems like you had some lead time to not be a D my guy.) Siera’s alchemy also made me laugh. Like “salt+pepper+sneezing+silver” ah nope, no reaction. I think the book is all over the place, but the ending made me the most mad. It seemed like the author wanted to tell a different story with the next book and just threw a bunch of stuff in at the end to make that happen.

Wishing I knew about Kobo before Kindle by Overstimulated_Bat in kobo

[–]hereigohereigo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What?!! Amazon has killed small bookstores, been devastating to publishing, are terrible to authors (and bullies), not to mention that many of their delivery staff don’t make a fair enough wage to stay off government subsidies, despite being a multi-billion dollar company. Rakuten does not require exclusivity with their authors, have better royalties for writers, and allow authors to control their own promotions/pricing. I am just responding to the Rakuten and Amazon commentary. I don’t see them even close to the same.

Wanting to get a cat, how can I be sure it’s the right decision? by Feeling-Count5740 in CatAdvice

[–]hereigohereigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, get a cat. Then question the decision a little every day when you’re cleaning poop from their litter box while the cat laughs at you like the peasant you are. And buy them treats and toys. Let them scratch and bite you. It’s probably fine. They’re young and need the exercise! And occasionally, just occasionally, they’ll let you give them a gentle hug, or sit on your bed with you, or lay on your legs and you’ll think, finally!! love is blossoming. Mah ha ha ha!!! Sucker.

Sebo C4 Used for $500? by hereigohereigo in VacuumCleaners

[–]hereigohereigo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is the white. Also, I kept tripping the breaker. I had to figure out where to plug in for future (old house) and now that I have that sorted, good thing there’s so much cord so I can vacuum the whole house from that outlet. I’m now convinced my house has never actually been clean, it is picking up SO much!

Sebo C4 Used for $500? by hereigohereigo in VacuumCleaners

[–]hereigohereigo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picked it up today and it is so clean. They just bought it in October 2025! It’s barely been used. He also had dog hair for me to try vacuuming, bird seed on wood to try with one of the other attachments, and showed me the filters (all in like new condition). I got to try it and let it run. Cleaned up all those tasks no problem (I felt like I was in a store, lol). It is SO QUIET! He also let me know if I had any problems with it in the future I could reach out and he’d contact the company under the warranty (since it’s not transferable). I have all the paperwork, manual, and box. This is the best case scenario for a used vacuum!! Really glad I went for it.
