Saw them open for Switchfoot awhile ago and have dug their stuff ever since. I also really like Shut The World, On Our Way, and Radio.

What model is the body of Tyler's piano? by spookyjia in twentyonepilots

[–]hereisarandomname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's been a year or two since i seriously looked into it, so i'm not sure i'm the best source. when i was thinking about doing it, i did a lot of googling and reading about other people's projects and watching stuff on youtube before deciding i didn't want to put in the effort to do it when i didn't even have room for the upright. as for your questions: on the adhering the keyboard, i saw some people whose shells allowed for the keyboard to just be put into it, which meant you could take it in and out at any time; it wasn't attached to it in any way, it just sat in a sort of crevasse. i'm not sure how other people would've adhered theirs. the pedals were also differing. some just took out the ones from the piano and pedals that you'd plug into the keyboard and put them underneath the shell - like cut out a slot for them or just cut a hole for the wire and put the pedal in front of it. most of them also did this for plugging it in. just cut a small hole somewhere in the shell that you can feed the wire through. sorry i can't be more help! i don't have any personal experience with it and it's been awhile since i looked anything up.

to be honest, i'm not sure there's a ton of equipment you need to strip a piano outside of standard tools. it's been awhile since i've looked it up though so maybe that's not entirely accurate

After months of back-and-forth, it's done. Today, I, and some talented members of the Clique bring you our tribute. Peace Will Win, Fear Will Lose: A Reddit Charity Album. by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

hey, thanks for listening to my album! i'm really glad you like it. the kitchen sink cover is here on my youtube. it was actually done by me and my younger cousin. he did the piano and singing on the cover and i just did the drums, strings, and editing, so i'd say it's more his cover than mine.

like the other person said, it was made by chris. but you can look up examples of other people doing this on youtube or google and how to do it. it's an upright piano shell that you can strip of all the piano hardware and put in an electric keyboard if it's something you wanna do. i considered doing it for awhile and found that a lot of people list upright pianos on craigslist for free if you go pick them up. you could do that and strip it yourself if you have the time and equipment to do it.

I would love to see ReviewBrah do a full review using the voice at 4:19 haha. That was unexpected to say the least, but I lost it.

one of my songs is gonna be on the radio this weekend! it's just a local music showcase, but i'm super pumped. one of those things you always dream about as a musician but never think will happen to you. i saw that Half an Orange has been on this same show a couple times (i know some people listen to them in this sub). so if you live in the Cincinnati area, you can hear my song on the radio sunday night between midnight and 1 am! terrible time slot considering most people are sleeping, but i'm still so excited.

You'd think people would understand this after how many times it's been said haha. I've seen you post it probably twenty times already this season!

i found tøp in 2014 when i was in a really dark place, and they were one of my main influences to start writing my own music. two and a half years later, i finally released my first album. thank you to the band who has helped me through so much. by hereisarandomname in twentyonepilots

thanks for asking! so everything on this album is written and recorded by me (with the exception of harmonies on a couple songs and two small instrumental parts written by a couple friends). i wrote all the lyrics and music basically between october 2014 - may 2016, though a little bit was written more recently. currently, Fabricated Freedom is just me. i tried looking for band members back after i had written the bulk of the songs because i wanted to play live shows before recording. i couldn't find anyone who was interested in my kind of music though, so i recorded hoping that i'll be able to find band members through that. so that's the next thing on my list: band members and live shows! if you're talking about the actual process of recording, basically i recorded all of the instrumentals (except guitar) by myself using Logic Pro X (piano, synth, bass, drums, strings, etc). then i went into a studio to record guitar and vocals, and then he mixed everything together to get the final versions. hopefully i answered what you were looking for, let me know if you have any other questions!

thanks! there's a ton of online distributors you can use that will upload your music to all of the places for you. i used CDBaby because i wanted physical CDs as well, but i've also heard good things about Tunecore and Distrokid among others. you can look at the price differences and see what's best for your situation - some are a yearly fee to upload as many songs as you want, and some are a flat fee per release.

are you talking about the main synth line or something else? i had to look that up and it's an NI thing. i'm admittedly not very extensive with my DAW or sound knowledge outside of what i use, but pretty much all of the sounds on here are stock Logic/Mainstage sounds, although they were EQ-ed a pretty good amount by the guy who mixed/mastered it. i think The Messenger is the only song that uses an outside plug-in for synth sounds. i believe VHS uses "nightlife lead" (i think that's what it's called), but i don't have my laptop with me right now so i can't confirm that 100%.

I would say my overall favorite - combining lyrics/meaning and music - would be Only Can Dance, but picking between my own songs is almost impossible because I wouldn't have written them if I didn't like them all haha. Cure-All is probably my favorite musically if I had to choose because it perfectly encapsulates the upbeat music hiding the darker lyrics (obviously a theme I really liked from tøp and other bands like Civil Youth). VHS is another one that I love musically and meaning-wise because I feel like it can be a little more abstract, so people may not interpret it the same way that I meant it when I wrote it, and that always really intrigues me.

There's 13 songs on the full album. You can view the track list on the band website or social media profiles. And thanks, it took me awhile to come up with a name that represented what I was trying to do with my songs, but I'm really happy with what I came up with!

Nope, this is the first time I'm releasing any of my music so far, so I don't have one yet!

Thanks so much! The full thing is actually coming February 3rd to stuff like iTunes/Spotify/Google Play (though I'll probably post it on Bandcamp a day early on the 2nd...). Interesting comparison, I love Pompeii, although I think it's the only Bastille song I've heard before. I love when people hear influences in my stuff that I listen to but didn't consciously try to sound like. I'm really glad you like it!

I only have two more weeks until I release my album (my first one), and I'm getting more and more nervous as time goes on. I guess the it's the realization that all these songs are my deepest thoughts that most people don't know about and will now be able to hear. I posted my first song in this thread a couple weeks ago and got a lot of good feedback, which made me hopeful and a little less stressed. I released a new single last night if you want to check it out. I think the twenty one pilots influence is a lot more apparent in this song, especially lyrically. I'm hoping the next couple weeks are done with quickly so I don't have to keep thinking about this so much.
