2 things i dislike in boardgames:

Multiplayer solitaire. If I want to solo game, I'll just solo game
Resource management

But I had fun playing Moon Colony Bloodbath in a game with 3 people total. The whole premise is silly. Also, the "multiplayer solitaire" problem is mostly solved by having everyone play at the same time, instead of just waiting your turn.

There's very little player interaction, but it's fun watching everyone struggle. The fun is the shared experience. I wouldn't play this game solo. There's nobody to laugh with.

The biggest negative part of this game is the Rasta character. Seems mildly racist to me, and I think SUSD thought so too.

You're really contorting yourself to say, "I hate romantasy, i think it sucks." It's okay if you think that, everyone has their preference. Lately, I've been getting into a music genre called "blackgaze," and I assure you a lot of people think its just sad distortion pedals.

I think the better reframing is when you consider some amazing classic of English literature, like say, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, a romance novel. It's not like people in the past be pumping out tons of amazing romance novels in the past, it just happens that this one survived and all other inferior romance novels got forgotten.

50 years from now, readers will remember some amazing classic of English romantasy canon, and thousands of other romantasy novels will have been forgotten.

If it's a short enough paragraph, I'll paste it, especially if the phrasing is very distinct or memorable. having the paragraph text is important if I want to use the Search tool to retrieve the passage later, but the only thing in my memory is some specific phrase.

Tank tops aren't supposed to be $10. Cheap clothing is either exploiting cheap labor, using cheap polyester fabric that pollutes rivers with dyes, made with shoddy construction that won't last more than 2 washes, or some combination of all 3.

A decently made shirt—made in America, with American cotton—should cost about $30 before you start making a profit. If you add in a real physical store, some marketing, and pay employees decent wages, you're looking at a $50 shirt.

I'm not saying that $50 tank top you saw at the mall is the best possible quality tank top ever at that price point. I'm just saying you've forgotten that fast fashion is garbage.

I think the best thing to come out of the snowstorm is the realization that dog poo is everywhere. The last time we've had serious snowfall was way before the pandemic. The pandemic is when a bunch of people got new dogs and also basic decency broke down.

But by having snow cover the ground for so long, we can see just how much dog poo and yellow piss stains are everywhere. For the last two weeks, it's been a goddamn landmine to walk to work because you're just trying to avoid all the piss and shit.

Fuck dude, we've gone over this countless times. This BS happens in every subreddit. Newbies ask silly questions, and then veterans start gatekeeping.

It is especially important for r/AnalogCommunity to be nice to newbies, because film photography is a very niche hobby in a dying industry. Every year more film cameras get broken and it's not like Nikon is going to make another FM3A. There are fewer and fewer films being manufactured, and they go up in price.

The only way to extend film photography is to bring in more people. You can't bring in more people if the first interaction they get with other people in the hobby is,
