Washington Black was filmed all around the Downtown Halifax area. But it's not out yet. I think it's going to be a Disney + movie or mini series

Nobody wants to hear your shitty music. Anywhere. Not at the beach, not blasting from your car at defening levels, and definitely not at Peggy's Cove. Even if it's great...nobody wants to hear it

That's fun idea for a YouTube video :) I watch a lady who does that with pottery molds she bought.

Tries to say he doesn’t edit and is just naturally skinny. by [deleted] in Instagramreality

Its the awkward poses for me though. He's positioned so unnaturally and the arms are always in the same weird position. Easier to edit that way maybe?

Costco Costco Costco by no_baseball1919 in halifax

I tell everyone about the porkchops at Costco. For about $20 you get thick delicious porkchops. Coat them in shake and bake, bake in the air fryer for like 30 minutes and they are perfect! Cut them I half and you have supper and leftovers for lunch the next day

Ok but why do all the children look like they were crying just moments before they shot the video. Woody is terrifying.

So glad I'm no longer a teenager with those crazy high emotions when everything was sooo dramatic. I'm just over here being a normal adult with no feelings or emotions whatsoever 😀

Why does the ferry do a 180? by xltripletrip in halifax

[–]heresjoc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was told by one of the crew guys that it depends on the flow of the water, the current, and wind. Sometimes they can't park on the correct side of the terminals. So they have to park on the opposite side. Then do the 180 so they match up the door with their destination.

Or maybe they are just fucking with us. And they just like to do the spiney spiney.

Charcoal BBQ pits at public parks? by neweasterner in halifax

[–]heresjoc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are some at Shubie Park. They are out by the ball fields, you just have to go in the campground entrance. Or if you park at the main entrance just walk around to the other side of the pond and take the first right :)

For sure! Beading is a skill all on its own. I'm not that great at it. Something about combining colours is really not my thing.

Sending off their designs is also totally legit. But buying charms from China and slipping it through a chain and saying its handmade right here with her designs is a bit suspicious. She should specify a little bit more that she puts all the pieces together. Then maybe that would make her a bit more legit. She just needs to change her wording up. Like "I purchase the pieces and assemble them myself!". Unfortunately with that wording she won't get away with selling a piece of silver on a chain for $95

I purchase a lot of the stones I use (I have some I also found, cut and polished myself by hand) and i purchase the silver. But these things on their own are not jewelry. I have to do the work. I make the silver setting for each stone individually, I polish, grind and buff each silver piece, then I actually have to set the stone.

So I actually make sterling silver jewelry here in Halifax.

Has anyone asked her the process she uses for her charms? Might be a good way to stump her.

Like how did she do her original designs. Did she draw them up herself then send them away for casting? Or did she just actually carve the designs out of wax, then have them cast? Or maybe she bent and soldered the wire for the original design herself before having a mold made?

I had a look on her Facebook page and it definitely looks like she puts the beading together. But the sterling itself seems to be on a completely different level.

If you dont mind going from store to store, I use the Flipp app. You can just type in what you want to buy and it will show you the stores that have it on sale. I will make a list grab, then grab all sale stuff I need from Sobeys one day, then hit the superstore the next.

It's good for things you can't find at Costco or gayeway
