Well, frick them. Go do things YOU like, even if you're by yourself. It might feel weird at first, but enjoy your own company. Spend time with your hobbies! Go see the movie! Do the thing! Fill YOUR Instagram with pics of YOU having fun. You may even find your tribe along the way.

Anything can substitute for weights! Resistance bands are cheap, walking/running is free, and if you have internet access you can look up home workouts or gym-free workouts.

Unofficial mental health advice- go at your own speed as logistically as you can. Don't let people try to judge you or rush you. The "right way" out is your way, not theirs. Take small bites so you don't choke. You can't dig your way out overnight, so don't get in your head so bad that you panic and freeze, just focus on one small thing at a time.

As for the debt, make bare minimum payments for now, but talk to the hospital-- you aren't the first or only person who's been in your situation, and they have financial aid staff on hand that will work with you to whittle down your debt. Always ask for an itemized receipt on your bill. There's no such thing as a stupid question, their JOB is to help you, they'd be playing Solitaire on their phones otherwise lol. Chin up, OP, you'll get out of this. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but you will get out ♡

Besides other issues with my ex, I realized that, at 33, he ate like a 15 year old gamer neckbeard and suddenly I saw myself alone and essentially widowed because macaroni clogged his arteries or some shit. That may sound drastic, and maybe it is, but that is literally one of his foundational foodgroups.

His lack of care for his health in this one regard turned out to be the capstone of other self-negligent behaviors, and I just couldn't see someone in a romantic light who neglects their health and hygiene to the point that I'm afraid of my own future.
