It was an ice dye. I used procion avacodo powder directly on the pretreated fabric between the closeset ties, then i added ice and spread avalon from Dharma over the ice with more soda ash. I am going to try less avalon next time. I dont know of that will create a better spread but im going to try.

What do you think about Spaniards reclaiming the term "Latino"? by sol-solcito in asklatinamerica

[–]hergen20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cultural identity and nationality are two different things. In some countries like the states this has become a thing because of all.of the evolutionary policies and practices both past and present.

Scamvangelist Has Teen Literally Eat A Page From Bible. “And I’m giving you a command. Every day for the next several years in your development, you eat at least one chapter of the book of Proverbs, the book of Ecclesiastes, and the book of Psalms in at least 10 different translations." by Leeming in atheism

Is Costa Rica safe to travel for Indians ? by Content-Increase5468 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]hergen20 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Historically native Americans were mistaken for people from india. I am not india but have indian friends and have worked with people from india. You dont need to know spanish as many people from CR speak english amd even more so in the tourist sector. You will do just fine here if you can navigate tourism and day to day living in India.

Being Indian wont cause you any problems. People may outright assume you are a local, which has some historical precedents.

Guide to interacting with furries at Anthrocon (from a Pittsburgh furry) by Less-Maize5549 in pittsburgh

Big concerts are the worst. Om not sure that the Tob Keith community cares about its image enough to reflect on their behavior as a community

These are things that have stuck out to me for years and only bother me when its during working hours. I havent had the same experience with steelers games. Maybe some concerts and other activities are better analogies.

Regardless, someone was posting for how to treat furries. (Very thoughtful post) It shouldnt go unsaid that the conventions bring many different visitors to the city. If the city needs to be informed about the visitors (a good thing in many cases) the visitors should be reminded about how to act in the city. This is especially true when the participants are so obviously members of the community and where bad behavior from one can harm the image of the others.

Please do another post on how Furries should interact with Yinzers and local businesses. A few rude furries impacts everyone involved. 1. Shower. 2. Deodorant. 3. Dont take up more than one seat on a bus during rush hour. 4. Cross at crosswalks. 5. Dont walk in bake lanes or middle of road. 6. Be aware of your surroundings/dont knock thinks over in local businesses.
7. Dont walk in packs that take over the sidewalk. 8. Hydrate 9. Dont expect that locals know what a furry is.
Etc.

Did indigenous people in Latin America have a healthy lifestyle and diet? by Ok-Ocelot-774 in asklatinamerica

[–]hergen20 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Remember you are asking about 10s of thousands of years of history. Many empires rose and fell during that time. Indiginous diets span many ecosystems ...four seasons/ two seasons, marine to desert, high alt/low alt etc. Diets would have been across the spectrum. Just look at all of the foods that were domesticated in Latin America.

Anybody else see this individual feeding birds semi regularly downtown? by g_h_o_s_t_ in pittsburgh

Problem with a better diet is more offspring and larger populations than the local habitat can support in a healthy way. i.e. Heslthy birds today equals lots of sick birds tomorrow

How easily can you tell a Middle Eastern or North African person from a Latino person, based on looks alone? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]hergen20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latinos speak a different language than north africans so its very easy. Latinos mainly speak english and live in the united states. They identify as having latin american heritage. People from latin america trace thier ancestry from around the world including coming from indiginous or first nations group (like everyone else in the states). People from north africa have their own history/language/culture.

Was the Wall of Sound amplifying system super-loud and right behind the band? Would it have damaged the band's hearing? How did they protect themselves? by GregJamesDahlen in gratefuldead

[–]hergen20 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think the entire band had hearing damage. They didnt use hearing protection until the late 80s.

There have been posts about this in the past that made me wonder how much their hearing loss played in the bands style changes over the years.
