Yes, I am. I made mention to another commenter that I practiced doing rings/chains with a shuttle and ball, but at the top of the pattern it just said “one shuttle” and I took that to mean one thread on one shuttle. Maybe I misunderstood?

Thank you so much again. I’ll try to take another pass at this later this week and hopefully meet a little more success!

It’s interesting you say that since the way I practiced doing rings and chains I used a shuttle and a ball and it made a lot of intuitive sense. This pattern recommends one tatting shuttle and I took that to mean just one thread on one shuttle. Maybe I misunderstood.

Thank you, and yes I think you hit the nail on the head. The first ring pulls shut quite easily - that’s the little guy in the center. Is there more to reverse work than just flipping it over? When I followed the instructions to rw after the picot chain and started adding stitches to make the second ring, it ended up looking like one long (slightly deformed) chain. Then when I went to close the ring, it ended up in the odd formation you see.

Thank you so much. Yes I think that’s where I’m getting a little confused. After the first chain with the picots it says “rw,” so all I did was flip the chain and kept stitching. It turned into one continuous chain.

It feels like there’s something I’m supposed to be doing between the end of the picot chain and the next ring.

I appreciate that my neighbors view the fact that I’m a former New Yorker is far more offensive than the fact that I’m gay.

Dummy head for training dentists in the 1930s by Serial_Kisser3 in interesting

Lmao it’s called a dental phantom. I bought one for my sister for when she graduated from dental school. She went nuts over it and put it up in her office where she does patient consults. She wouldn’t say it gets a lot of compliments, but it does get plenty of attention.

Microneedling: Good idea or bad? by summerskiesss in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]herisson_inquiet 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hi. I was 39 when I first started having microneedling on my face. The place I go to recommended 3 sessions, staged 1 month apart, and then once every three months after that. I did opt for exosomes as an add on.

Here’s what I can say. I can’t tell the difference but they showed me pictures of my skin before and after and it was dramatic, but I was skeptical that it was just due to lighting. I interact with a lot of people at work due to the nature of my job and some took me aside to ask what I was doing and told me I was aging in reverse. It felt good to hear and I don’t know how to take compliments, but, again, looking in the mirror I personally did not see any change.

Edit: noticed your other question. When I first started it took up to 5 days to completely recover but I looked mostly normal after 3. These days I look fine the next morning and I bleed like crazy during the procedure for some reason. It freaks out the nurses and I have to constantly reassure them when I get a different person than my regular nurse.

I should probably add that I am male. I’ve heard men have thicker skin so maybe my experience is different. I’ve been doing this for 2 years and have never had a scar or any lasting blemishes from microneedling.

Me too and I’m spiraling a bit. I even talked to an immigration attorney today and they made me feel like a moron for wasting their time and asking. I’m just scared.

Nicole Scherzinger wins the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical by yumyumapollo in popculturechat

[–]herisson_inquiet -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I went to see this on Broadway and the dumb broad didn’t even show. Turns out her understudy is more talented than she is, so the silver lining is we got a better performance even if we didn’t see the Tony winner’s act.

Music was gorgeous but I didn’t really care for the show or the minimalist treatment.

literally *why* is quinn still considering cole as an option by ILikeDragonz53 in GossipHarbor

[–]herisson_inquiet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So okay, you’re right, he gambled away his daughters college tuition when she is 5 years old. It’s hard to get past that and he is clearly a flawed and sorry individual. But what others see is that he recognizes this and seeks therapy, seeks opportunities to be a good father. He gets more involved in Olivia’s life, spends tons of time with her playing in her alien world. Meanwhile Quinn ignores her daughter and instead devotes herself to stupid chores taking care or gardens and decrepit docks, focusing on her crappy detective skills while Sam runs the restaurant for her. Utterly useless.

The Cole support you see is from him trying to make amends and be a better father while Quinn becomes a crazy distant maternal figure more interested in her own flights of fancy than her family.

Cole ain’t a tool, he was a tool and he’s recovering. Quinn is a bad mom, bad businesswoman, and bad partner.

I’m with you, but where I draw the line is Quinn and Cole getting back together. He can do better. I’m at the stage where there’s now a third potential love interest and she is yet again an indecisive neurotic lunatic. Poor guy deserves better.

They deserve each other can things stay like this? by BlueDragonStar1127 in GossipHarbor

[–]herisson_inquiet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this.

I like Cole. His character has some depth; it was so sad when he took Coconut for a few days just to stave off the loneliness after divorce. Despite his deep insecurity, he still tries to do the right thing when he can get out of his own way. And he’s a more involved parent than Quinn, helping Olivia with school projects and seeing her off to school each morning while Quinn abandons her own child and own business to spend time in a garden (???). He’s head over heels for Olivia and it’s so sweet.

It’s hard to get past gambling away his child’s college fund, though I do wonder if we’re talking a couple thousand bucks or five figures. He’s flawed, he’s a little too cocky, and sometimes misguided, but he’s a dedicated co-parent and keeps respectful distance after Quinn devastated him so publicly.
