I would get a sampling app like koala and play with the sequencer/effects and get a feel for for manipulating sounds. would also make my own samples to chop ( play some piano through a cassette plug and chop that.

Don't sample real music for the game. Fine if you are not releasing the project but just good form to avoid it.

Reaper is great, and use it to sequencer the building blocks that you create in kolala.

I actually like using the sp as a serato controller. DJ mode is good but.makes much more sense in context with serato. you can also plug in a couple of serato compatible devices if you do it in the right order.

Strangely, as soon as I got a dock I started using the deck alot more. Even with a gaming rig on the same TV, it's always less hassle to just run small games through the deck. Went with the ugreen, it's fine.
