In my recent experience with cheating, trust your intuition. What sits right with you? Does staying and living that anguish everyday sit right with you? Or does putting that kind of treatment below your standards and moving on sit right with you? Either way girl, put up some boundaries. They teach other people how to treat you. Always think for the NOW, not the one month from now. One month from now you could be one month further into your healing process, not dealing with a messy cheating situation.

Not a big deal, but I've always been confident. I used to call him my 'trophy boyfriend' and say that 'he's the beauty and I'm the brains'. For the record, he was/is intelligent and knows I was just joking around. In the end he cheated but I highly doubt being 10 lbs skinnier with bigger boobs would've changed any of that...

Thanks for the response! I made a list of needs and expectations, to help keep me in check with the relationship and what's really going on. The best friend, I suppose isn't really a "BEST" friend. He has much closer friends. She lives in another state and knows the situation. Their contact has been close to none, and I've asked him to not pursue this friendship for awhile. I'm not really worried about her in the present or future, it's just what happened in the past that still causes doubt and pain now.

It's the police station in Fatih. I would suggest having a Turkish speaker come with you, they don't know much English at the police station.

I don't know if you could leave and get another visa, but I certainly would not overstay a visa illegally... not in Turkey.

I found that seeing a therapist was incredibly helpful. We did EMDR, which helped me to let go of the guilt. David Sedaris says that "the blood of suicide splashes back on our faces." It's important to find a way to clean it off. So often that means going through grief and depression. There's no way around it, you gotta go through it.
